It was a private transaction, the gov't had nothing to do with it. It's very cut and dry, if I want the dog, I follow their rules or go elsewhere.

Please note: I did not have a "background check", it was a list of 3 references which they called. But if they insisted that I do have a criminal background check, they are well within their rights to do so, just as I am well within my rights to go elsewhere.

I agree with you it was pvt transaction and thats exactly what I was trying to explain to penny that she having to do a background check to be able to adopt a pet and univ background check are different thing.

oh quit it. your napoleon is hanging out now.

I'm serious. Is the base this scared of EVERYTHING?

Its a big difference I'm trying to understand.

It seems to me, without the gun you feel less than adequate?

It's quite strange that you'd be the ones in power yet so afraid to lose it. In this case, living as a minority gives you other things to worry about besides having a firearm.

Try finding some enlightenment...it will make that firearm seem infantile.

Keep going. This is fricking awesome!!

Really?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_culture

I didn't make it up.

Penny here "In the United States, the term is used solely to identify gun advocates who are legitimate and legal owners and users of guns, using guns for self-defense, sporting uses, hunting, and recreational uses (target shooting)."

What is wrong with that?

Legitimate and legal gun owners are gun culture... why does govt need to have database of legal and legitimate gun owners?

Check out PRISM and the facility going live in UTAH.

Funny...we're going to training there next year. :)

I will check it out.

Yes, Harsh. I read the article. Gun culture can mean two different things depending on who you're talking to. The fact is that the culture exists.

I asked a very simple question. America clearly has a love affair with guns - the article I linked you says that and I don't think anybody would deny it.

I asked if you thought that's what was intended at the time of the writing of the 2nd amendment.

If you can get into it.

We are going to training there next year. You just need a clearance...but it requires a "background check"...lol

A coworker went to training in the Idaho facility and said next year they are moving it.

Intent of 2nd amendment was clear when it was written and is very clear in present as well.

Certain politicians don’t want the guns in hands of the civilians and they want to make a choice who can own one and who cannot. They can have their own agenda behind I don’t know nor do you know this would not be first time a politician has created a facade for personal gains.

Why was right to bear arm was put down as 2nd and not 10th or 13th amendment? It was important for founding father and for the nation to survive in future.

I asked an actual question. Why is it that these fanatics are so afraid of the government?

Can you even imagine the logistics involved with confiscating 350 million weapons? With the government full knowing that any teenager could make an IED in 10 minutes with ingredients found in the kitchen.

I mean come on...they have tactical nukes, cruise misses, bunker busters...etc

Your battle you are waging is in your mind and it's over. Enjoy your time on the rock and relax.

There are over 300 million guns in the US. You think the 2nd amendment was written with that intent? That one day, the guns would almost outnumber the people and would be easily accessible and as powerful and efficient as they are now?

I guess you cannot understand it was for civilians to be in par with govt.

Is today's govt using flint lock and swords?

It's easy to write a rule or law without knowing what the future can hold. What's silly is not even being willing to look at those old laws and attempt to adapt them to the way the world has changed.

You think the founding fathers could have predicted how advanced and efficient guns would eventually become?

Anyway you are just beatin around bush.... back to the topic.

Thougher gun laws would not reduce anything, even biden and bloomberg are aware of it yet they just want to make it difficult for legitimate owners to purchase and own a weapon.
