This is great to know! I mean, when in preparing for our trips. We just received our NOA2 so does this mean our interview may not be until March? That seems so far...but...

If so, I hope that the plane tickets and hotel prices go down after Carnval. There has to be a silver lining on every cloud, right?

Meredith,

I'm curious...Why do you say you're expecting your interview to be in March?

Meredith... if you look at the girls' timelines on Orkut (you know which community I'm talking about), you'll see that all of them are having their interviews on a Tuesday. The latest one that I heard of, was on the 23rd.... so they still have the 30th of January and all of February to fill. Let's do some positive thinking :P

My I-129F application was just approved on Wednesday and so I'm waiting for the NVC to get it and then send it off to Rio. I already have the documents for the 3rd packet and my fiance and I almost have this information complete. As soon as our case is sent to Rio we plan on sending our documents to the embassy. I just made a guess that by the time all of this is done and our interview can be set up it'd be the end of Feb/beginning of March.

I'm not being pessimistic by all means. We're very excited and I believe planning everything out well will make this run smoothly. I just mean that the latest could be March, right?

I'm looking at the orkut community now and Mrs. Knight I guess I thought it'd be March too because I read your timeline wrong. I was reading that your interview was in Feb because I was thinking in Brasil (1/2) and not the U.S. 1/2 (Jan). Oops.

Well, que seja fevereiro!!!

I hope that the prices of flights and hotels goes down because of Carnval since I'm flying to Rio for the interview too.

Thanks for the support!!

I also thought all interviews in Rio were on a Tuesday. However, my fiance has her interview on a Thursday (1/18). I thought this might be a mistake but that was the date the embassy gave both her and I when we called them and it is also the date that they sent to me in an e-mail.

Also, I know the Orkut community that is mentioned above. There is also another person who has posted there that has a 1/18 interview as well.

Maybe they are going to start doing the interviews on Tuesday and Thursday???

Just my 2 cents. Good Luck!!!!

I've seen some timelines where petitions "fly" through NVC (a week or less. I think I saw one that was in and out of there in a day). Who knows? Hope you're lucky and speed through there, it might even be possible for his interview to be scheduled to january:

so they still have the 30th of January and all of February to fill.

From what I've seen here and on other websites, there are fewer applicants going through this process right now.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you two (F)

Technically they don't need to schedule the interview on Tuesdays, but I guess they do that in order to keep everything organized and they know they will have to stamp passports every wednesday and know they will have to have someone to hand out the passports on Tuesdays (in the afternoon...) I guess they've just been too "busy" lately and they had to start doing this twice a week.

To be honest I hate these people guts, they are really lazy and amazingly impolite. Whoever applied for a visitor visa, or, in my case, got a visa denied, knows what I am talking about.

I understand the Americans that work there being xenophobic (it is their job) , but I really don't understand why the Brazilians that work there are so mean to other Brazilians.

Probably jealousy...

Anywho, after my interview I will have to go to copa and have a beer looking at the sea....

I guess that is why they don't have those interviews here in SP.

In my case, the time between CSC and NVC was a little longer than "normal" (3 or 4 weeks).

And it took a week for the case to get to Rio. And 2 weeks for the pkt 3 to get home.

But by the time I got the pkt 3 I was already with my interview scheduled.

By the way, they keep record for when you call them, and I called them every day. at the time they had a date, the girl almost yelled at me "23 DE JANEIRO!!".
