Hello all. Filed our CR-1 petition back on April 10th. Just spoke with a Tier 2 ISO and found out our case is still at the NBC shouldn't they have sent it to our local office yet? Getting bummed out that all these K-1's are being approved and no hope in sight for us CR-1/IR-1 petitions :(

They don't necessarily get transferred to your local office.

Not everyone gets transferred. They built the KS office so that they wouldn't have to transfer anymore.

We are April 23 and nothing yet either. Is it my imagination or are Canadians (who do have a high petition rate) seeming to be slower than others?

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I think we can only speculate, at best, on how fast things are moving for Canadian beneficiaries.

VJ member 'cm11' who recently completed their C/IR-1 application at NVC and waiting for a Sept interview at Montreal. Their case will be completed (issuance of visa) in a little over 7 months --> http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=157117

And 'the mean lady' completed their C/IR-1 (from NOA1 to receiving visa) in 8 months. --> http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=111697

On the other hand, 'NewportWest' also recently completed their C/IR-1 but theirs took a year from NOA1to interview (timeline is incomplete but you get the idea) --> http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=149590

I haven't really seen any recent Canadian beneficiary here that has gotten a shorter timeline so it would be reasonable to say that the processing time for us would be around 7 - 9 months.

(as of March 14th, 2014)

ELIS status - Closed (Card produced)

USCIS case check with receipt number (starts with IOE) - Card delivered in the mail

SSN - Received (Went to SSA location to apply for one)

July 16: POE through Miami
July 22: SSN card in the mail
August 30, 2014: Green card arrives in the mail!!!

April 27, 2016: Sent 300 page ROC packet to VSC via overnight mail
May 16: Check shown as charged online, received NOA 1 dated April 29
June 20, 2016- Biometrics
April 28, 2017: Approval
May 4, 2017: Approval letter arrived

01.27.2014 - Received case no. & IIN

02.07.2014 - Completed & submitted DS-261 form online

02.13.2014 - Paid AOS bill

02.18.2014 - AOS showing as 'paid'

03.18.2014 - Invoiced for IV bill (finally!)

03.19.2014 - Made payment for IV bill

03.21.2014 - IV bill showing PAID

Just a little tidbit, not every tier 2 is going to go to the effort of finding out where your case REALLY is. A CSR (tier 1) will always say it's at the NBC. ;)

Sometimes you have to phone 5-7 times and take the most common answer. :D
