My fiancee went to NSO on Tuesday to get Birth Certificates, NBI and CENOMAR. She received BC and NBI with no problems. They told her to come back on Friday to attend a 5 hour seminar before they give her the CENOMAR. Has anyone else went through this? Whats it about?

They said there is no charge so its not the CFO. I'm confused because I read VJ a lot and have never heard of this before.

Anyone??

What seminar? That's a first.

She can just order it via telephone and pay thru Metrobank. The CENOMAR will be delivered to her address. Here's the number 737-1111. http://www.census.gov.ph/civil-registration-services/telephone-requests-nso-birth-certificate-delivery-nso-helpline-plus

Never heard that before. Can she go to another NSO location for CENOMOR?

Never heard that too... =) When I went to get the CENOMAR, I just paid for the fee and waited for 2 days to get it. That's it.. Keep us updated..=)

never heard of seminar..got my NSO birth certificate after 2 hrs of waiiting..same day:)look for another NSO office

July 25,2013--USCIS received my AOS packaet

July 31, 2013-Email/text notication from USCIS

August 1, 2013- Check encashed

August 5, 2013-Received NOA1's in the mail.

August 9,2013- Received my Biometric Appointment Notice in the mail.dancin5hr.gif

August 15, 2013. Done with my biometric..(walk-in in Local USCIS in Philadelphia)

October 2, 2013- Approved EAD and AP.
October 13, 2013-Recevied my Combo Card( EAD and AP) through mail.

November 14, 2013- Received a Letter of Potential Waiver Interview in the mail.

January 14, 2014- Approved Green Card date. Anniversary date of my 2-year Green Card.

January 23, 2014- Received my green card in the mailbox.

Reminder:

I have to apply for ROC of my 2 year green card within October 20, 2015 to December 2015.

Got my BC same day and CENOMAR after 3 days. Didnt attend any seminar from NSO. My mother was even the one who requested my CENOMAR

Sorry, yes you are correct. She received NBI in Quezon City, then went nearby to NSO and received Birth Certificate, they told her to come back in 3 days to get Cenomar and have the "senimar". She is on her way there now, she will let me know what happens. In my opinion, I think she misunderstood what they told her and there is no senimar. Stay tuned! :)

I got my CENOMAR the same day that i applied for it.

Maybe the delay is cause by some SEMINAR on the NSO office in their locality...maybe amongst the employees not the applicant????

Ok, well as it turns out, they got her name wrong. They found someone with the same first name, but the surname of that person was her middle name. That person is 16 years old. Thats why they wanted her to go through a seminar first. But I thought you had to be at least 18 to get married in the Philippines? Anyway, she complained and received the correct CENOMAR in her name within 30 minutes. Everything is good now. Just waiting for case number.
