We got a notice that a RFE had been sent on July 8th. It never came. After 15 days (9 days ago) my fiance called them and they put a service resquest on it, they said it could take 30 days justto process the service request. I'm sacred that we might fall into the USCIS limbo.

Has anyone here been through the same thing? How long did it take to the rfe to be resent?

Hi

I am in a similar situation. My RFE never came through as of today and it was sent on June 25th, 2013. I called several time and have made service requests 2 times and also spoke with tier 2 officer at USCIS. I get the same answer as the customer service Rep told me to wait for another 30 days. As per USCIS RFE is time sensitive, but there is no way to get trough the USCIS to expedite the delivery of RFE. So, I do not know what to do in this situation. Someone might have suggestions or advice on this issue. Hope to hear from someone who might have experienced the same

The USCIS plays games in order to make their slow processing times appear better on their annual report to congress. I called on the june 28 and they told me over the phone I had an RFE....

it did not show up on my status nor did I get an email until July 3rd and was recorded on the postal copy as july 3rd, on july 13 I overnight my response return reciept and they signed for it on the 15 and officially recieved it on the 17th per the status. I had my Senator follow up and their response to her was an RFE on June 28th, (not july 3rd) and to allow them 30 to 45 days to respond. Status it shows received on july 17th and to allow up to 60 days for response. Ultimately you need to stay on top of RFE to keep it on top of the desk and not returned to a box. Call your senator asap and have them constantly keep sending in requests.

So, after 3 service requests, an infopass and a congressman involved...today my fiance called them and they said they'd mailed the RFE again last thursday. He spoke with a TIER 2 person today and this person said to give it another 30 days for it to arrive! Oh for God sakes, really??? The same person said that the RFE has a deadline - and tells us to wait 30 days to do something in case we don't receive the package? What sort of advice is that? - so she said for us to mail the service requests receipts with the RFE to prove we didn't receive it in first place and to disconsider the first deadline. So I'd say that if any of you didn't call them yet, CALL NOW! Don't wait until the deadlines they give you, cause each person says something different every time you call, and they don't even know what they are saying (hence the "you have a deadline to make, but wait another month to call in case you don't get it") call them everyday, get in touch with your congressman, send an e-request, there's even an email address there somewhere. Do everything you can, even if they keep telling you to wait, cause if you miss the deadline then they'll say it'll be your fault.
