Good day all

I have two quick questions about this process. A little background: I am going to bring a female, high school degree, no english, 25 y.o. from Peru. I am 26 m from WI with a university degree.

Where do I send this I-129F form, and all my info??

It said on the I-129F form that the place for me to go is Nebraska, is that correct?? Even if Minneapolis, and Chicago are closer?

ok, 3 Q's please. I was just reading a question a minute ago. He said that he needs the 2007 form, will I have to send this before Jan. 1 to be able to use the 2006 form still??

and my last question. If her birth certificate is in Spanish, do I have to have that translated to English?? Would a Spanish high school teacher be fine to use to have her translate??

Thank you very much all

The USCIS decides when they wont accept a form version, and they have the newest version posted to their website long before they stop accepting the older version of a form. They do not produce new versions every year. So use the version that they provide on their website they are the newest ones.

You send the I-129F form along with a 4 page G-325A form signed and dated by you, and a 4 page G-325A form signed and dated by your fiance to the service center specified by the directions included with the form. If Nebraska is the service center for your state that is where it needs to be sent.

About translating documents you can have a friend or the teacher who speaks the language do it, they just have to sign the translation at the bottom with a statement like:

I certify that I am competent to translate from [Language] to English and that the above [identify the document and to whom it pertains] is a correct and true translation to the best of my knowledge and belief.

Wow, Jim you said you were not trying to be rude, hummm.

To answer your questions, raspect, first of all you dont need an attorney, anything you need to find out can be found on this site, or if you dont find it, ask. To my knowledge the only reason you would need an attorney, is if you have a criminal background, or things as such. I hope you have met this lady in the past two years, as that is the first step. Even if the other states are closer to you, for sending the application, you still must send it to the place they specify. About using the 2006 forms, I believe as long as they have received them before the end of the year, you will be fine. But you better hurry up, cause you know the holidays are near and I'm sure they'll be closed. And if you send in out dated forms they will promptly send everything back to you and ask you to submit on the revised forms. I know because it happend to me. Also some where I read that all forms must be translated if in another language then english. I think that should answer your question. Not sure about the teacher for the translater, maybe it is ok, you should do some more research on that. Well the site doesnt say anything about the intent to marry having to be typed, send it in the way it is, and if they want it typed they will send you an RFE,

I wish you all the luck,

Well as a follow up; Raspect and I are now talking on Yahoo. He did not feel I was rude at all and I hope I can either help him or point him to one of the senior members posts on this site that are quite helpful. I never intend to insult or disrespect, although I see it frequently from posters on this site.

Butting my nose in to remind everyone that it's best to post your questions on the forums and toughen up your "I'm offended!" shield.

It's not a good idea to solicit or accept immigration advice in private. We all make errors--chances are better that a mistake will be corrected when published to the group.

And since the whole community is based on each of us helping each other, our written comments help many people who never post to the thread, but benefit from your experiences nonetheless.

Thank you for your attention. We now return you to your regularly scheduled sniping.

Best laugh I've had in a while!

To the OP - next time make it sound more like your bringing your bride and less like you're importing a use car - (and take all the guff you get in stride, its mostly all in good fun).

Sorry, GUESS U just don't see; wanting to see your bride or groom here as soon as possible. I was honest and polite in what I said. Some of you are rude! You are rerering to another persons loved one. I'm sorry if their typed English was not good enough for you. Please make fun of people in the future that you can see face to face! I came here to get help from people that truly cared about others! Those of you you that need to pray on the weeknesses or truly the week ones.

Now I see why you all viewed that as rude. It was just a cold comment, like a computer talking for me. I see now. I just wanted to give you all some background info quick. Without being all gushy, telling you how much i love her, how she is so beautiful, how l......... dadada, how we no no, nothing, I just wanted help and wanted to explain what the situation was. Either or, I am not offended, I just want her over here, and the sooner the better. So, no need to argue amongst yourselves who is rude, and who is not. and things like this. Just :help: me please

I would like to add that there are many of us that read the forums and try to give advise when we know it. It is very disappointing to see people snaping at other people or shall I say share their sarcastic remarks because someone asks a question that may not be meaningful to them.. We all started in the beginning and most of us had no idea where to start. Please be patient and if you know more than the next person, share it with us, dont snap. If you feel the question is stupid, then dont respond. Some of us do like to help others.

I think most of the sarcasm is light harted and meant more for comic relief than as an insult, at least that's the way I look at it. (I've taken my share of 'guff' here for sure, lol).

A good argument (debate) now and then also adds to the value of this forum.

To the OP:

Nice attitude about the 'guff' :)

When completing your I-129F there are two theories, #1 that is if send too much and you'll get an RFE because it will raise more questions or delay your case, and #2 bury them with evidence so you won't get any RFE's. I filed my I-129F based on rule #1 and got an RFE for bank and credit card statements showing purchases and cash withdrawals I made while i was visiting my fiance in Bangkok, so now I subscribe to #2. One fellow here sent in so much evidence with his I-129F it took a shipping BOX to hold it all, and got one of the fastest approvals I've ever seen. CSC got his BOX after me, and sent his approval BEFORE I got my RFE.

Good luck to you!
