Yes, but not $5 to $10.

I can't find diced papaya anywhere! Oh, except in Idaho. Since I am still in Alberta, that hardly does me any good. I *hate* dicing my own and dusting the lot with arrowroot powder. Very tedious.

If you mean would I pay more for products made in the US or to keep jobs here, then yes I would. The amount would depend on the product.

That, IMO, is the only real American moral value left anymore. The lowest price is worth anything.

That, I think, is pretty disgusting.

eta: especially when you consider that you're going to pay for it somewhere else later.

it's why I would full up at a full service gas station at home than at self-serve. There's no such thing here in the US as far as I have seen.

But I have to agree with Pedroh -- for all the "made in America/proud to be American" hype I see around, it seems to fall by the wayside when it comes to buying stuff as cheaply as possible.

We will. We might not be able to afford big screen TV (which we do not need anyway), but if you need to buy something with higher price because cost of labor is higher, then why not ?

And about the people bitching, well.......people will find something to ###### anyway.....even the weather that we don't even have control of.

come to jersey... its illegal to pump your own gas here... first time i drove down south again, it took a few seconds after i stopped at the pump before i realized that i would have to get out of the car and pump it myself again! lol

there are a lot of ppl that will just buy the cheapest stuff they can find... but there are those of us who will actually pay a little more for something that will provide jobs and a boost for our own... crazy, huh?

does that mean i dont have anything made in any other country in my house? nope... but if there are 2 of the same product readily available, one being produced in china and one in america, and the only difference was a small percentage of the price, i will buy the one made in america

No it isn't BS. If I have a choice of products (rare opportunity) I will pay more for that made in the US. And, yes, it's been more than a dollar difference. You might not do it yourself but don't speak for other people.

I also shop at local Mom and Pops instead of the mega-corp's stores. If I pay more, so be it.

As far as buying products, I don't look at price. Quality is more important, so whichever has the best quality is what I buy. I guess its bad because people overseas harley make any money for making that stuff and so much of it is made in sweat shops, I think by principle it would be better to buy US products. However I don't do that myself, when I see a product made in Jordan, I buy it.

Now as far as outsourcing goes, the worst IMO is call centers. I prefer to speak to people in the US. I have spent HOURS on the phone with call centers in India and the Phillipines and the end result is always the same, they transfer me back to someone in the US because they can't help me. Its really frustrating.

I think its pretty frustrating to pay alot of money for things and get poor quality of service. The company is saving alot by outsourcing the jobs to another country but they have not passed those savings on to the customers.
