I am aware of a number of cases concerning Black serial killers, one was about a mile from where I lived in Charlotte when I first arrived, wallace I think his name was. Also the guy in Atlanta , the DJ killing little black kids and dumping them in the river. There was also another I am aware of in La. in which everyone was looking for a white gut but got surprised. DC snippers, Who was the guy who shot up the long island subway Ferguson I think?

Rozier would admit to killing seven White people to please Yahweh.

After serving ten years in prison, Rozier was set free in 1996.[2]

Rozier was placed in the witness protection program under the name Robert Ramses.

On February 5, 1999, he was arrested for passing a bad check for $66 to pay for a car repair.

After finding Rozier’s true identity, police discovered a trail of 29 bounced checks totaling more than $2,000, and charged him with a felony.[4] He was convicted, and under a third strike law, Judge Eddie T. Keller sentenced Rozier to serve 25 years to life.[5]

He is currently serving 25 years to life on a conviction for check kiting under a third strike law.

You're not helping your case. 90 AA serial murderers and 323 white murderers = 413 serial murderers total. 90 is ~21% of 413. Yet the AA population is 13.1%. So African Americans are actually more likely to be serial killers based on their percentage of the population.

I would agree that being that we are smaller in size so it's a larger number, but when was the last time you heard of a black person walking into a school, movie theatre, mall, or any other public place and gunning people down? The last mass shooting from a black man was in Lousiana a couple months ago. He didn't even kill anyone, just shot into the crowd and ran. I hope his butt rots in jail for the rest of his life.

In the scenario above it seems you're giving up the right to not be forced to incriminate yourself. I thought the right to remain silent was what you get after an arrest, not in court. Seems like it's having to prove your innocence, rather than having the state prove your guilt.

I agree with Karee on this. Forcing someone to testify in their own defense is removing their 5th amendment rights.

I get that. However, a couple thoughts.

First, I don't think that the fifth amendment is a fundamental right in all cases. I understand where it comes from as far as coerced confessions, torture, etc. However, a police interrogation is quite different from a court room. In open court, the defendant has a lawyer, there are limitations on the questions that can be asked, intimidation and threats should be minimized, and the basis of questions presented is limited to evidence that has been introduced into the court through proper means. Having said that I don't think that our court system has progressed to the level where I would feel comfortable without the fifth amendment.

On the other hand, I don't think that what I have suggested as far as self defense really qualifies as forcing someone to incriminate themselves or even forcing them to testify. Precedent shows that if a defendant chooses to testify, he or she must answer all questions and stand for cross-examination. The step I am taking is just that asserting a self defense claim is effectively waiving your right to remain silent. A defendant cannot choose to take the stand, relate his side of the story, and then refuse to answer questions under cross-examination. Similarly, a defendant should not be allowed to make a vague assertion of, "I killed him in self defense," and then refuse to answer questions under cross-examination.

Sadly enough, he is telling the truth. If I go anywhere that's predominately white, I get a lot of attention.

I wish I could. I tend to be very animated sometimes for a comedic affect when telling a story. I tone it back in terms of loudness because I am aware of the stigma we carry. I can't stand it either in a movie theatre or resturaunt. Especially when I'm eating. But it's the same for a bunch of white folks at a Chili's or Buffalo Wild Wings. I'll put that on my "things black folks need to change" list.
