Fugu is eaten raw.

Not necessarily. It's still fish. You may choose to cook it or not. Fugu can be added to a hot pot (chirinabe).

There are fishermen in the Philippines who use fugu in preparing popular local recipes. Some of them also fry it and of course, there are a few who don't make it alive after consumption.

Want a recipe for disaster? Take a big hot deep fryer, a turkey and a few cases of beer. Now get a bunch of southern boys together around these three items and you're all but guaranteed to have your disaster.

bonus points for FROZEN turkey at time of fryer insertion.

Hey, I'll be brave and admit to starting a fire in the oven while cooking the Sunday roast...except I did it while we were in the US still. I also shattered my pyrex baking dish when pouring cold yorkshire pudding batter into the pan that had hot sizzling fat in it. What a bloody mess!

Yer so twisted, attempting to eat food in the U.S.A. I am so sad, now.

:(

I convinced my wife to do Chinese hot pot for this years camping trip. YAY!

Beer, charcoal, and somebody forgot the starter fluid is always good for hours of entertainment.

I assume gasoline like the cats round here? You can begin cooking after it burns off I'm told.

Huh? this took any convincing, at all?

IMO, if you brought the gear and the right charcoal (or gas burner)

then left the choice of ingredients up to her,

this concept of 'convincing' isn't needed, at all.

Facilitating, sure.

But convincing? Really?

Convincing because she doesn't think any of my friends will like it. I think they will and have been attempting to convince her its worth bringing.

It will be the little butane single burner deal. You know the one.
