Hi folks, just a few questions, thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to read, doubly so for anyone who replies.

My US wife lives with me in the UK so we'll be using either her mom or her stepmom in the US as her co-sponsor. Do we need the co-sponsor to fill out a G-325A too, or do they not get involved with the process until we get to the I-864?

How far back do I need to get police clearances? I left Ireland October 2007, bummed around Asia and Australia for two years, then came to the UK January 2010. I did live in Australia for over six months during this period, should I get a police clearance from Australia? If so, is this difficult? Should I also get one from Ireland?

Finally with the bonafide marriage docs, would it be a good idea to include copies of all our plane tickets from when we were courting prior to marriage? As it stands, all we have is the marriage cert, a tenancy for our apartment in my name with her listed as a tenant, and a selection of gas/countil tax/electricity bills in both our names.

You're both living in the UK - so are you filing DCF? Check the link in my signature for what that's about if you're not. Filing direct with London is *a lot* faster than the regular I-130 route via the Chicago Lockbox. DCF also doesn't need you to send relationship evidence (London will ask if it wants any after they get your I-130 petition, and they rarely ask). You're in the DCF forum, but your bio information on your profile says regular IR/CR1.

You need police clearances for any country you've lived in ever for 6+ months.

Co-sponsor only needs to do the affidavit of support. Only petitioner and beneficiary do the G325A. You won't need the information about financials until after you I-130 petition is approved (DCF people only show it for the first time at the actual interview).

Sorry - yes we're doing a DCF, don't think I saw that option when signing up.

When you say it doesn't need any relationship evidence - does that mean we still send lease/bills just in case, or leave it out?

Thanks for the info on police clearances. I guess I should get going on that now.

Thanks for the info on financials too.

By the way, I actually cursed out loud when I saw your visa timeline. Three months! That's amazing. I won't tell my other half that in case it gets her hopes up (we're expecting it to take 6-9 months) but is that typical these days?

Yeah - I mean leave out the leases etc. London expressly says not to send any on their checklist. The guide in my signature has links to the lists.

I think I have the fastest London DCF timeline of the last year or two. Folks currently in the process are running at 3 - 6 months depending on how quickly they got medicals done, what travel plans they told the embassy they had etc. I knew I was fast which is why I wrote the guide + the second post in that thread is a list of exactly what I did when.

A couple folks who just started have had their I-130s approved in 8 days, so they're possibly on a good start to beat my time if the rest of their paperwork is that fast. :)

Thanks both! Have applied for my police checks, will get all my sponsor detail together before sending off my I-130, maybe we'll be able to set a new record!
