Hi,

I havent posted before but silently enjoyed all the great info here. I am successfully through K-1 and have AOS filed, Biometrics taken and Interview date is Jan-04-2006, San Francisco.

Now as far as I could gather all the information, I dont need a new medical exam since I had one in London for K-1, so I only need a I-693A. As I understand this is basically the same as the immunization sheet I have from the London doctor, except on a different form, so I need a doctor to transfer the info on I-693A.

Assuming this is correct (please tell me if I am wrong) I called doctors that are on the USCIS site here in Berkeley for this service. Everyone told me they charge a flat rate of $200 for anything USCIS related, whether its a complete checkup or just the immunization sheet.

What do you guys pay?

Does anyone know a doctor in the Bay Area that is fair in this respect?

Or can I just take the British immunization sheet with me to the interview?

BTW, at this point, I am out nearly $2500 on immigration and related fees. This is without a lawyer.....I am broke.

Just a quick question, have you recieved a RFE for the I693a? Im just wondering since you have already submitted all your paperwork for AOS, most people who have submitted their AOS paperwork etc dont worry about getting the extra supplement done unless they have been asked for it by the USCIS.

However, back to your problem, $200 to fill out a form is quite frankly bullshit... ph around the civil surgoens in your area... I would post the link but since they changed the USCIS website it is one of the weird long ones.... do a search for civil surgeons on the USCIS site and look for designated list.

If you are missing any of the vacinations, from what I have read on here it is cheaper to get it done else where (local doctor etc) and take the vaccination record to the civil surgeon.

Most people pay between free and $75.00. Ph around all the CS in your area.

Your I-693A should have been filed with your AOS, not taken to your interview!

the cheapest that we have been quoted in our area is $200 also...seen as we didnt get an RFE for sending in our supplement form from London we are not going to pay that for the I-693 for the interview and just keep our fingers crossed

The original vaccintation supplement that you had when you did your full medical exam overseas, is not the same as the I693a that a civil surgeon does here. The one from over seas is the worksheet that a panel physician fills out. It is the same vaccinations needed for it though.

In the mysterious brown packet that is handed in at the POE should be your complete file from the embassy, including the medical. On saying that, these are just the bits of paper that the embassy has relating to our cases and would probably go through many hands once here so there is a good chance that things will and have gone missing.

In my case, Fortunately the panel physician in Brisbane gave me my complete medical and vaccination documents and then gave me the envelope to put them in saying I could seal it or not, I ran off about 6 copies of each. I sent in a copy of that medical and worksheet with my AOS I485. I have not yet recieved a RFE for the I693a but I know that I could still be asked for it at my interview.... I am taking the chance that it is ok since I did have all the vaccinations required...

Hi,

sorry for the late reply. No, I did not get an RFI for the 693a. But the interview invitation says bring I-693 unless already submitted. It says that about a lot of forms (that I have submitted with the AOS) but I dont know what appens at an interview if you dont have it....

thanks

will keep looking for a physician

Well, that is true. However, this website states that many people just take it to the interview instead. There are advantages in doing that over adding it to the AOS, namely not to delay sending off the AOS because of it, which would have been the case with me.

Even if you would risk getting an RFI for it, this would only hold up your AOS and not the accompanying work authorization, which is my primary goal for now as I am slowly but surely running out of money.

I have a same question about it. If you your entire medical exam is copyed, how about the case number,do you use same case number as K1 visa. Thanks.
