Phone number is 202-663-1225 . Press 1 then 0. DOS is Department of State and they can check to see if your case has been received by NVC. DOS is easy to talk with since the waiting is around 3 minutes.

New Journey AOS:

My fiancee came to US on the 8th of March, 2014 under K-1 visa at Newark, NJ Airport for POE.

Applied Social Security Number on the 10 of March, 2014.

Married on the 13th of March, 2014.

Sent I-485, I-765, and I-131 on the 15th of March, 2014.

Received EAD on June 7, 2014.

Received Notice of Potential Interview Waiver on July 1, 2014 date 6/27

Contacted Ombudsman on 01/12/2015.

Ombudsman contacted USCIS on 02/20/2015.

Ombudsman sent a follow up to USCIS on 03/18/2015.

I-485 approved on 03/31/2015 ( we ordered your card).

Welcome notice was mailed on 04/01/2015.

Received Welcome Notice on 04/08/2015.

Card was mailed to me/picked up by USPS on 04/08/2015.

Received GC on 4/10/2015.

I just called NVC and was also told wait 8 weeks from approval. I do NOT want to be waiting antoher 2 months. last thing I want is to be moving from western Canada to Texas in the middle of winter. that would SO suck for driving a U-haul through snow and stuff.

I have been calling the DoS but they have nothing to update so....

What does it exactly say on your NOA 2 Receipt?

My NOA 2 from California was July 26th and says "The above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate. "

I called NVC today and they said they havent got it yet . So no idea when or where it is. I dont know if its gone directly to the consulate or to NVC.

Yup. My NOA2 has the same text. If you check your case status online at USCIC, what does it say?

It says : post decision activity

We mailed you a notice that we have approved the I-129f petition for fiancée.

It then has in smaller print, for approved applications post decision activity may include uscis sending notification of the approved application petition to the national visa centre or dept of state.

On August 7, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

Ours Is coming from Texas as well,Approved Dec. 9..got notice Yeaterday that USCIS Shipped it out on Jan. 3..so i hope we get the e-mail Invoice within a couple of weeks..
