I was just wondering if we apply for Advance Parole along with adjusting the status, how long would it take for the advance parole document to be approved? Does anyone know? Also, let's say if we apply for adjustment of status, can we send the I-131 (advance parole) request with AOS? and once approved, we can travel any time as long as the parole document is valid for?

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

It takes 60-90 days, and yes, you send it with your AOS (and the cost is waived), and yes you can travel while it's valid (and I think you can renew it, if you don't have your GC by the time it runs out.)

Thank you for this information. I see that you have a pending AOS and have also applied for the AP at the same time. Hope you get an approval soon !! Good luck !!

Yes, you send in the I-131(AP) and I-765(EAD) at the same time as the I-485 to adjust status. The fees for the I-131 and I-765 are waived when filed with a pending I-485. It takes about 3 months to receive the EAD/AP and it is used to work and travel and re-enter the US while waiting for the green card to be approved. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

EAD and AP are both free when filed at the same time as AOS.

My wife got her EAD/AP combo card about 60 days after filing.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."
