I filed with the August filers. My docs reached them on 1st August morning. I got my biometrics notice on the 12th and did a walkin on the 13th. Now waiting for the next steps. My I-130 is still pending though protest6wz.gif

I have filed I485 couple days back(USCIS has not received yet) but today i received emails from NVC with case number. As I485 handle by USCIS, what should i tell NVC?



Did anyone with approved i130 got letter from NVC with their case number? I and my wife both living in USA, not sure why our case transferred to NVC?

I have filed I485 couple days back(USCIS has not received yet) but today i received emails from NVC with case number. As I485 handle by USCIS, what should i tell NVC?

Did anyone with approved i130 got letter from NVC with their case number? I and my wife both living in USA, not sure why our case transferred to NVC?

I also got my NVC letter with case number after I filed for I485. I called NVC and they asked me to email them with the details and not to pay the NVC fee.

I got my case numbers from USCIS thereafter, so I believe they have taken over the processing

When did your 130 get approved and what was the PD?

Did you check on the application that your beneficiary will be adjusting here in the US? If you did then your adjudicator will have messed and transfer the case to NVC instead of USCIS.

This is an easy fix though as OP mentioned, just contact NVC and it will be taken care of ASAP.

Wow! you may be one of the few that may get interview before the big retrogression at the beginning of the 2014 Fiscal Year.

Keep us posted, I am hoping that I will get FP notice this week.

This is really surprising to me, I was not expecting a biometric notice earlier than the Thursday or Friday this week.

We went in today and succesfully completed the Biometrics via walk-in. It was simple. Not a single question asked of us regarding why we came in early. We were in and out in less than half an hour.

Hopefully they will complete our case before the end of this fiscal year. Fingers crossed.

Got my Biometrics notice today! For anyone who hasn't received their fingerprint notice: on the notice, it says case type is I-485 and I-765. And their MSC numbers are listed there too. And the address of the support center for the appointment is also listed.

I took my passport with me. I would suggest you take your passport, just in case.

I read in other threads that walking in to other centers was fine. I did a walkin into the assigned center. Good luck!

Just got biometrics done :D Early walk-in and showed the security guy my flight info. He was very nice and gave the form :) Then I filled in the form (it asks your eye color, hair color, height and weight in addition to your name, birth, etc.) and waited for 10 mins to get my 797 notice stamped by another guy who did my finger print and took my photo for the EAD and future Green Card. Before I left, he asked me to double check my info on the screen. I did a quick survey and rated their services as Excellent. It took 30 mins to get everything done. Feeling great! I brought my passport but I only showed them my driver's license since it shows my height/weight, and eye color.

Also got my biometrics done today and it was not easy. At least, not in the Washington, DC area. Went early in the morning to Alexandria (VA) and was turned away. The place was very full indeed (over 40 people waiting and in-line). The immigration officer was a nice guy though. Told me unfortunately that this week was a very busy one and that I should try next week after 3pm, but with no guarantees whatsoever.

In the afternoon, I tried the Wheaton (MD) office. Brought a letter from my employer (an international organization) and the official notice of a meeting with foreign officials I have scheduled for the original biometrics appointment day. Even though the office was nearly empty (only one person getting his biometrics taken), the immigration officer was not going to let me in and only allowed me because of these official documents. There was another gentleman there and they were not letting him have his biometrics taken. He was still there after Ieft, so I don't know if they eventually allowed him.

Just want to warn those of you in DC. Most people here on visajourney say it's very easy to do a walk-in, but I guess it depends on the where you are.
