In my multiple dealings with USCIS I have never received an email/text prior to receiving the hard copy of the biometric notice. But that is me. Take it with a grain of salt. :)

We have not received the EAD but are dropping out. Why pay the international student fee when we don't have to? So in answer to your question, once you get the receipts you are in "pending adjustment of status" and no longer need to retain F-1 status. Some keep it as a backup just in case their AOS is rejected. We have been married 4 years (going on 5) and feel that there should be no reason to deny our case. Therefore we are not continuing with school. Besides my wife would prefer staying home with the kid.

Best of luck with either choice. :)

4 years of marriage and a child, that's more than enough to prove to USCIS that your marriage is not for immigration benefit. I read somewhere that the longer you have been married, the less scrutiny will be on your case.

I see you guys have received FP notice, if this trend continues then I hope to receive mine by mid week.

Bokar83 keep us posted with your attempted walk in for FP.
