My fiance completed and passed her medical yesterday. Our approved I-129f packet still has yet to be shipped out from NVC (although we did get an MNL### by phone). Will this present a problem (i.e. will the embassy still be able to match up the medical results, which they obviously will get before the NVC shipment of my packet, with my packet?)? The interview isn't until October 2, if that makes any difference.

Thank you, and good luck today! :)

And yes, the embassy will receive the package before the interview no problem. But my question is if them getting the medical results before they receive the package will complicate things.

If you haven't already I would use this website to check your status: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx? (using your MNL number). Personally I don't think it will be an issue because your case number is on it and they might just hold it until the case shows up. I've heard that the Embassy gets two copies of your petition, a digital and a physical. It could be they already have a digital confirmation of it, and even then they can probably look up the MNL number in their system and find it. I would contact the embassy to find out exactly how they would handle the medical getting there before the physical petition.

Almost all medicals show up before the interview, so I am guessing that they have a filing system to store the medical results until the interview takes place....I don't think it really matters when it shows up to the Embassy, they will just hold it.

Just my thoughts....

Thanks. This is what I got at the site you linked, regarding my petition:

"Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) for the next step in the processing of your visa petition. If you have misplaced the instructions sent to you by the NVC or did not receive them, please contact us at http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html for additional information."

Any idea what this means?

Before the interview, yes. But before they even receive the petition packet?

The embassy may not have the hard copy file yet, but they do have the electronic version - as you have your MNL# wink.png Relax everything will be fine. And remember the visa validity date is tied to the medical date so you will be a couple months short there.

You can check the CEAC website to track when your file is in route to USEM

Thanks Hank! :)

Yes, we definitely plan to relax now for the next couple of months, as everything is done except the simple process of getting the CENOMAR and NBI. We managed to get our NOA2, pass the CFO, get the interview appointment scheduled, and pass the medical in just a span of 10 days, so we are a bit worn out and don't want to have anything to do with visa procedures for the rest of summer lol. :D

When I got the MNL# my wife (then fiancée) was on vacation in Malaysia (at least I got a T-shirt out of the deal), once she got back we got the interview set then she did the documents gathering and got the medical done a couple days before I arrived. We had the interview the following week ... then we relaxed for almost two months before flying home. It was good not to feel rushed.

No.

Visa validity of duration tied to medical exam date.

They told her that only those within the first 10 in line complete it in one day. They tell everyone else to come back for day 2. And even that is no guarantee. It depends on how busy they are that day. I hear Mondays and Tuesdays are the busiest.

So basically, if you show up before 4:30 AM on a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, you may have a chance of getting done in one day, provided there are not issues that arise from the medical itself, such as a sputum (the most common).

I don't know much about hotels in the area, as Mylen lives in Metro Manila anyways, so perhaps others can advise you on that.

Good luck! :)
