Merci bcp,

My wife has only one middle name.......which she hates, we used it on the forms for middle names. We were married last month so we put her new last name (my family name) on all the documents as she has already begun the processes to change the name in France before we depart.

Will you both be filing from France?

Hope it goes well for you

Thank you!

Yes we don't have a joint account yet (since I got my french visa a few weeks ago) but we sent literally everything I could dig up....the only thing I may have been able to do more is find reciepts but I dont have much...

Hope your process goes ........as fast as possible (can't really say fast, but...)

Just checking but, for each page of the I-130 petition, did you....

Write your name and Alien Registration Number (A #), if any, at the top of each sheet of paper and indicate the part and number of the item to which the answer refers.

I would check the "Stupid RFE" thread. Little things like making sure the check or I-130 is signed...painful way to be delayed a month.

IMO, Copy of beneficiary full birth certificate (with translation) is actually useful, as

local offices use their own rules for adjudication.

If it was going to CSC or VSC, it's not required (per the I-130 instructions)

but since it's gonna route

lockbox->MSC->local office

then having that beneficiary birth certificate is useful.

Lots of folk reported RFE or NOIDs because of this, with the casefile at the local office.

Go Get Em, and Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

hello,

I do not have an A.R. number, but do you meant to write my name (petitioner) on every single piece of paper in the packet along the top? I still can if need be.

Since my husband's birth certification is in German, I sent a color copy of every page of his passport. I've heard this is just as good as a birth certificate. Do you know if this is true?

Nope, sorry, I be clueless.

Except to state that a translation in English could have/should have been submitted with the copy of the original BC.

Yes. Name and DOB, like Darnell said. I think it just helps USCIS identify who a piece of paper belongs to, if it gets lost in the mountains of paperwork they get. Can't hurt can it? Just don't tape or write over anything else.

I've seen lots of people swear they sent <insert important document> to USCIS and they said they never got it. I printed copies of a small strip of paper in MS Word (with name, dob, name, dob) and taped it on to the top (or bottom) of all my docs in my original I-130 app. It was a pain, but didn't get an RFE. Maybe it was b/c I did all that work? Maybe not? *shrug*

Same thing with the IV and AOS packet. I printed a small barcode w/ my NVC case# on all docs I sent them.

It is a very good idea to write down on each sheet who the paper belongs to, since you don't have a case number yet, yes your name, DOB and also the beneficiary name and DOB would go greatly into making sure papers are not put into a "lost papers" file.
