NOA2 valid until Jan 6, inteview date jan 2nd!!

The Brazillian embassy laaaaaaaaaggggggggggggggggggggggs on setting our interview date. We were approved Sept 7 for NOA2 and it took incredible amount of time for the embassy to provide our interview date.

So we have it on Jan 2nd, the soonest plane ticket available is Jan 8th...the NOA2 is going to expire because of the embassy? Do we need to get an extension?

We've been on top of getting all the documentation and everything. Its really sad the interview date set by the embassy is out of our control.

1. any advice if we should apply for extension on the NOA2?

2. any suggestions on getting the interview done sooner?

3. how long does it take after the interview to get the visa? My fiancee will be in rio and that's 7 hours travel from her home city curitiba..we think she'll have to wait in rio until the visa is ready.

thanks

Mike & Kelly,

1. I'm not sure, but I think the consulate in Rio will do that for you. Some of the other VJ'ers might be more helpful with that.

2. Call or email the consulate?

3. Usually she can get her visa 2 days after the interview.

Good luck

The petition can also be extended for an additional 4 months. Some consulates do it automatically. Send an e-mail or call the consulate just to be sure.
