I just wanna share what's worrying me this past couple of weeks. I'll appreciate whatever advice you can give me here on VJ. I'll start off by saying that I have no TB, I had my Xray done earlier this year because I was worried but it was negative, even my doctor said that my lungs are fine. What worries me if I'd be asked at my medical in Saint luke's if we have a TB history, I'm thinking of just denying the fact that my mother died because of TB. Only if the doctors will simply ask me a question. But what's worrying me if on the personal data sheet that I have to fill out will be asking for my Parent's information and if one is deceased if you'd be ask to supply the info on the cause of their death, i;m worried because i know i have to sign in there about the truthfulness of my statement and i hate to lie about it, but I really think it'll be best to just at least try to deny it.

... PLEASE guys, can you share if you remember on the Personal data sheet form you filled out at Saint. lukes asks for this info on your parentsa cause of their death, or they just simply ask you personally..

I;d realllly hope I get an answer from here... THANK YOU

Lying on any immigration form is Material Misrepresentation. If you lie on the form, you will be caught and permanently banned from the US. If you were to be found out after entering the US, you would be deported and permanently banned from re-entering.

Answer all questions on the form truthfully, you will create more trouble for yourself if you don't.

(Organizer hat off)

Don't lie.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

In the Patient Data Sheet i had checked from my email right now, it does not ask for Parents Health history..They will only ask about the date of previous examination at St. Lukes and the date of previous chest xray...

So you will not be denying anything in the PDS..Doctors will not ask u if family has had TB if your chest xray is clear..

TB is not inherited from your parents. It is something you get infected with, so your mothers death from TB has no impact on you as long as your x-rays are clear.

I don't think the OP is more worried about having inherited the disease..I think her concern is having a mother died in TB probably, diagnosed late which possesses her a risk of acquiring the disease, and if Doctor at St. Luke's will find out that she was exposed to it, then she feared she will undergo a sputum culture which i doubt if her Xray is fine..

Nevertheless - NEVER LIE! If she is asked about her mother she needs to answer with the truth.

Her mother dying of TB has no connection to whether she has TB or not. The x-ray and if needed further test will determine that.

People in the Philippines are exposed to TB all the time without knowing they were exposed.... and not necessarily from a family member.

Of course she can not LIE because there is no specific question there about her mother having a TB..Like i said, Doctor will only dig up the family's health history or exposure to TB like if you are a health care worker IF her XRAY has abnormalities which she mentioned its FINE smile.png

i thought 'history'

was 'medical history'

and the medical history is the medical history of the one getting the medical examination.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

IF you have active TB, it will show up in the X-ray anyways, so it is meaningless to ask if your parents had/have it since they check to see if you have it anyways. This is why they won't care enough about asking that question.

If nothing shows up in the X-ray, then the worse you could have is the inactive virus, which they don't check or treat, nor need to because it is not contagious.
