The first line asks for how much your real estate is worth

the second line asks how much mortgage is owed on said property. (actual assets would be A-B)

If you meet the requirements with your income alone, then skip the assets questions. Leave them blank. No need to put $0 or anything else there.

If you income meets or exceeds the poverty guidelines you don't need any other financial info.

If you need to use real estate as an asset, mortgage or encumbrance(s) are any liens on the property, they want to know how much your OWE. Also if you use real estate you would need an appraisal to assess value.

If we listed info there but also meet the guidelines for income will they require an appraisal even though you already meet the income by leaps and bounds?
