That was a pursuit? Oh No ! You've read it wrong !

She was seperated, and apparently seeking support of her countrywomen.

Most movie theaters have armed off duty police officers working security.

After 9/11 arming of pilots was also approved lot of them do carry a pistol on flight + some of them have air marshall again armed.

Teacher having a weapon is not same as a child having a weapon. Think of a situation when the school goes in lock down the ppl behind door have nothing to protect themself and children just a hope that no one would break down the door.

I have never once in my life been to a movie theater that had an armed officer providing security, but I will take your word for it.

I didn't say pilot. I said flight attendant. They're the ones who deal with the passengers the most.

Of course a teacher having a weapon isn't the same as a child having one. Who is talking about kids having weapons?

Potentially it could be a lot of things. I have a feeling it will end up being more bad things than good, but time will tell.

It is 50-50 we do not know..... something like airline pilot carrying a weapon.. fortunately so far there has not been an issue where one of them had to use a weapon.

Speaking of kids with guns, though.. at what age should students start being allowed to bring their weapons to school?

21, IMO.

I don't think the "deterrent argument" works here. These people shooting up schools are nutjobs, to put it frankly. They either expect (or want) to die, don't care either way, or are too crazy and/or emotional to even consider that outcome.

I may be wrong, but I'm guessing the reason they target schools isn't because there are no guns there, but because killing children delivers the most impact.

Okay, you're probably right on that. But I still think there is an argument to be made for some type of arming of teachers; if they want to be armed. Unarmed kids and teachers have no chance unless the police get there before the shooter opens the classroom door. But, if the teacher on the inside has a shotgun; then the shooter will have a problem and the kids have a chance to survive.

We have them here, for a couple years now. The first time I took the Mrs. to the movies and saw the armed guard, we both looked at each other and said #######?

You said lets start giving a gun to children so thats a different thing.

I know you said flight attendant but until 9/11 even pilots did not carry one or were allowed to carry one, that changed and ppl felt more secured if pilot was carrying or in general most ppl had no problem.

According to PolicyMic's Tom McKay, a gunman who chased restaurant customers into the lobby of the Santikos Mayan 14 theater before opening fire and injuring two was prevented by an armed off-duty security officer from potentially becoming a James Holmes copycat. The officer "was able to corner the gunman in a restroom and shoot him multiple times before disarming and handcuffing him."

Why? They can purchase them younger, can't they?

I know you've been in the USA for a bit,

but now, I think it's time for you to make some new drinking buddies.

I suggest 2 or 3 Law Enforcement Fellas - Then pick their brains over beer.

After that, report back, aye?

Right, but I don't believe any of them other than the bank guard should be armed.

The hell are you talking about?

There you go

No. Not "there you go" ... I didn't say hand them out TO CHILDREN. I was assuming that these children are not going to museums and toy stores without adult supervision.
