Adding Supporting Material to My K-1 Visa Application

Hello,

I have a quick question about adding supporting materials to my K-1 visa application. I recently submitted my K-1 on July 1, 2013 and I have some updated pictures and supporting evidence that I would like to add to my file. I have the NOA1 and can contact the California Service Center, but I was wondering how I should go about sending in these materials so that they will be placed correctly in my file. I would like to do this as soon as possible as my file will probably be reviewed in October (according to my "proposed" timeline).

I have also heard that if I check the status of my case that when the materials are added that it will be marked as a TOUCH. Is this true?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Just want to clear something up first. You did not file/apply for a K-1 visa yet. You filed the I-129F petition. Once the petition is approved, it will allow the foreign fiance(e) to apply for a K-1 visa at the consulate in Juarez.

If the evidence is simply to prove relationship, then save it for the K-1 visa interview. If you are missing pertinent evidence such as proof of meeting within the last 2 years, then you can always try to send it to the service center with a copy of your NOA1 and hope that it finds its way to your file. Sometimes this works, and sometimes it doesn't.

Nothing is ever marked 'touched' by the USCIS. A touch is what people here call it when your file has been opened or moved, or in some way 'touched'. This refers to the online case status changing, or date of most recent update. Warning: the USCIS online case status is far from reliable.

Sending anything at this juncture is likely to be nothing more than an exercise in futility because it is unlikely your submission would be matched with your file.

If you receive an RFE for missing information that USCIS needs, you can respond with that and also include the new evidence of your bona fide relationship. Put USCIS's requirements on top. Under that, atop the new evidence, put a cover-page that says "USCIS: Upon petition approval, please send this additional evidence to the consulate."
