Hi there,

So, as I have noticed on my husband's interview letter they have only place his first name and middle name.

For some odd reason, his last name has disappeared. And when I called NVC to clarify and ask why the name has changed, they told me to not worry about it now because if I inquire about the name now, it may slow down my case and interview.

But now I am getting worried, because I am afraid that my husband's name will stay like that (first name, middle name) and no last name. I was planning on changing my name when he arrived here, but I don't want his middle name as my last name. It sounds awkward. Has anyone been through this or have any advice on this issue?

Should my husband mention at his interview about his name or no? Should he just say why they have deleted his last name?

Any advice and information will be appreciated.

Thank you

Regards

Meera

mention it in the interview. they can fix it before they print your visa. they don't like to change it once they have printed it. also, if for any reason that doesn't happen, then when he arrives here n receives green card, you can just send back with request to fix it. I had a similar problem 10 yrs ago when I arrived here. unfortunately mine didn't get fix until my citizenship interview

**Organizer hat off**

Since the Embassy now has the file, follow up with them instead of the NVC on this issue.

My fiancé is in a similar situation. I filled out all the forms as First, Middle and Last, but on his passport they only have his First and Middle name, also his taskera didn't have his last name. So he went and fixed his taskera, but the officers and the passport office would not change his passport. We talked to the Embassy about it, and they said it is very common and not to worry about it. I am hoping they print his visa with his first, middle, and last name. We will have to see what happens, and try to get his last name on his visa, but the way I understood it is that they go off what your passport says.
