I got my noa2 on 7/16, I called today and still no case number. How long is everyone waiting for theirs?

I-129F Sent : 2013-01-24

I-129F NOA1 : 2013-01-30

I-129F RFE(s) : none

RFE Reply(s) : none

I-129F NOA2 : 2013-07-16

NOA2 hard copy received 2013-07-20

Aug 7th shipped to NVC

Aug 14th case number received

I received my NOA2 on 7/17 and I got my case number 8 days later. My service center was California, though, so that may have something to do with it.

Met in 2006 through a pen pal website for school-aged kids when we were 15!
Kept in touch a bit for 4.5 years
02-2011 -Started talking about how to make a relationship work
06-06-2011- Met in Chicago and became a couple, finally!
07-18-2011- I flew back with him to England to meet his family
11-23-2011- He stays with my family and me for three months!
05-16-2012- I flew to England to be with him for a month.
07-15-2012- He flies back to me for another 3 months
12-17-2012- I fly over to England to be with him for 5 months
04-05-2013- We took a trip to Rome, and he asks me to marry him in St. Peter's Square!!!
04-25-2013- I-129F Sent to Dallas Lockbox
05-09-2013- He comes back to visit me for nearly 2 months
07-03-2013- I go back ONE last time, while our I-129F is processing
07-17-2013- Our petition is approved only 79 days later!! kicking.gif
07-25-2013- I fly home, and we are now apart for an indefinite amount of time. cray5ol.gif
08-09-2013- Packet 3 received
08-13-2013- Packet 3 sent back
08-15-2013- Medical Exam
09-24-2013- Jake's mom flies me to England by surprise AND short notice
09-26-2013- Packet 4 Arrives

10-11-2013- Visa arrives
11-04-2013- POE Chicago O'Hare
11-27-2013- Wedding day!!!

It took a month for me to get the case number, because it's in the packet 3. My fiancé didn't call NVC because he knew that when we got NOA2 then people were working on our case.

Be patient, you'll get the case number :)

I got noa2 notice dated 15th July. Just call NVC but they haven't got my case yet.

A lady on the phone told me to wait for 8 weeks!!!

Don't know how they assigned the cases as I saw some pp the noa date after me already got their case number :(

Btw, I'm curious that would we receive an email once we get the case no. (As when our case was approved) or the only way is to keep calling NVC?

04/09/14 - USCIS Noa1 notice date and check cashed next day

04/11/14 - Got text/e-mail notification for I-485, I-131 and I-765 at 1:09 a.m. & check cleared in the morning

05/06/14 - Fingerprint done

06/12/14 - EAD card production date & AP approval date

06/20/14 - Received EAD/AP Combo card in hand + text/email notice for delivery status :lol:

07/14/14 - Received Notice of Potential Interview Waiver case dated 07/10/14

02/24/15 - Renewal EAD/AP Noa Date

03/18/15 - Requested help from Ombudsman

03/19/15 - One fingerprint done for EAD renewal

03/25/15 - Requested help from Senator

04/01/15 - Case has been transferred to field office in Columbus, Ohio

04/09/15 - Card was ordered

04/16/15 - Card mailed

04/18/15 - Received GC in hands finally! (no welcome notice)

I think you have to call them.

I've been waiting for my case to go to the NVC since July 3rd. It hasn't been shipped there yet, and today marks 4 weeks since NOA2. I am furious with USCIS and cannot wait for our file to get out of their hands and to (hopefully) more competent staff at the NVC and DOS.

Still waiting. I was also told 8 weeks.

1/31/13 - 129F Sent
2/7/13 - NOA1
** transferred with 2nd group from VSC to TSC in late June
7/9/13 - NOA2 (5 months)
8/16/13 - Shipped from TSC
9/11/13 - Packet 3
9/19/13 - Forms sent in.
9/24/13 - Medical Done
9/27/13 - CEAC Status Update
10/02/13 - DS-260 mailed in
10/15/13 - CEAC Status Update (DoS couldn't say what triggered it, did say no interview assigned, but all docs are in)
10/23/13 - Embassy email states they do not have our documents. Poor Steven does 160 again.
10/23/13 - DoS says our case is still "processing" and not "qualified" (interview ready) and to do newest forms.
11/05/13 - CEAC Update. DoS says case is "eligible for interview" and we're waiting on next interview date.
11/08/13 - Another call to DoS (Chris is a nice guy!) and no interview scheduled yet.
11/12/13 - Another call to DoS and no interview scheduled yet.
11/13/13 - Email from Embassy to Steven informing him that his interview is TOMORROW.
Hurray for Patron Saint of Immigrants - Mother Cabrini's Feast Day!
11/14/13 - INTERVIEW --- APPROVED!!!!!
11/19 & 11/20 - CEAC date update, but still at "Ready".
11/21 - CEAC Creation Date & Notice Changed.
11/22 - CEAC AP
11/25 - CEAC ISSUED -- yay!!
11/27 - DoS Shipment Notice (email) in AM. Pickup ready email sent in PM.
11/28 - Steven picks up docs from Bridgend - Happy Thanksgiving!
12/15/13 - Arrival in US. POE: JFK. (Heathrow - JKF - Richmond, VA by evening)
Getting Married in January with small ceremony.

It seems like they expedited the case for faster approval and then get stuck at NVC instead :(

I've been waiting since 06/24 when my NOA2 was approved. I don't think anyone here has been waiting longer than me.

Be patient... I think you should get the case no. within next week.
