Same thing goes in Japan, it's hard as hell to get a gun there, yet it's one of the safest countries in the world. You can fall asleep on the sidewalk without the fear of getting robbed or killed. I've seen it many a night when we would go to Roponggi. They would step over them and leave them be.

Yeah I was kinda shocked by that myself. Especially since alot of them were in suits and had briefcases. At least when I passed out in Ropponggi, I did it proper in someone's backyard. Not out in the street, in the bar, or in the train station.

America could learn a lot from quite a few other countries if some of its citizens got over the whole "AMERICA IS #1" mentality.

No surprise there. I still consider you to be incapable of "catching me" but so willing to try. Get PWND in any online debates lately?

I really don't even consider "catching you". You do that quite well all by yourself. Now go out and get some more guns and ammo and make it all better.

Being complacent usually comes back to bite you in the #######. Just look at the number of lazy idiots, that just don't give a ####### about anything, that you encounter during the course of your everyday travels in the US. It seems we've become #1 in stupid.

They don't like thinking that their beloved country could be doing anything wrong, or that other countries might have a better answer to their problems. You can point out statistics in any number of categories (education, violence, quality of life, etc) ... and the only response is that America's the greatest country in the world.

How many times has anyone who dares to believe another country is ahead of the US in something been told "If you don't like it, leave"?

That's not the solution to ANY of this country's problems.

I think it has the potential to be.

Yeah that's the problem. Everyone just sitting around patting themselves on the back about how great they are, while at the same time refusing to accept or even acknowledge that you could learn something from other countries. It's pretty sad really.

Hell, most of the people sit around patting themselves on the back for doing absolutely nothing. They take the smallest of accomplishments and make themselves out to be the best thing since sliced bread.

The other problem is that most US citizens have never been out of the country to experience anything else.

Someone being a lousy shot is an excuse to give them more ammo? Yeah that's what they need. laughing.gif

Not quite, I was thinking more along the lines of where are those cops learning to shoot?

Right? I need more ammo because it takes me 17 shots to hit once.

Sounds like someone who shouldn't be shooting a gun to begin with. laughing.gif

but haven't we been told the police are the professionals and know more about guns and can handle them better than joe citizen?

keep that in mind the next time the magazine capacity debate shows up.

Boom.

Someone being a lousy shot is an excuse to give them more ammo? Yeah that's what they need.

Yet folks think only the cops are trained well enough to have guns.

I would say for the most part, that is true. While I'm sure there are many citizens who could outperform anyone in law enforcement with a firearm, I feel confident that the majority of law enforcement are better with a firearm than the average citizen.

High capacity mags for lousy shots...lol That's funny.

What's even funnier is where do they think those extra rounds go when they don't hit the target?

They would if Gary had his way.

You mean they'd be forced to own a firearm. ;)

You weren't specific when you said "joe citizen", but I would be inclined to say yes, better than most folks who own firearms.
