Because highly populated areas tend to be liberal areas. Highly populated = more people. More people = more poverty. More poverty = more crime.

No matter how much you try and stray away from the original conversation, the original statement that I was responding to remains false.

States with stricter gun laws do not tend to have more crime than states with lax gun laws. There are examples of both.

I think that map has been proven to be bull$hit at least twice here on VJ in the last 2 years.

ETA: Look at Northern Minnesota and Northern Maine.

Nobody's saying guns are THE problem. They aren't. But to deny that such easy access to guns is a problem is to live in denial.

Culture might have something to do with that.

Russia also has very strict gun laws yet lots ov violent crime.
