If it causes a death, then it's the same as a gun, in their mind. Or something.

Let's ignore the fact that people don't generally choose a car as a murder weapon.

It's their illogical response to a lot of things.

As evidenced by the "ban crockpots" movement that showed up here after the Boston Marathon bombings.

I think people "concerned" with under 20,000 deaths a year - while completly ignoring the 120,000 or so folks killed in car crashes - have misaligned priorities, especially when gun rights are guaranteed by the constitution.

Are you serious?

Show me how often someone takes a car and intentionally uses it as a murder weapon. Then maybe we can compare numbers.

Also, your numbers are a bit off. Per 100,000 people, there are 10.9 people killed in a vehicular accident. Per the same amount of people, there are 10.3 people killed by a firearm.

In 2010, there were 33,687 motor vehicle deaths. And 31,672 firearm deaths.

The numbers aren't as far apart as the ones you came up with.

Ha, I remember when I posted a story about someone who came outside because a car was parked in their driveway for a minute and SHOT the driver as he was rolling his window down. If I remember correctly, the driver was killed.

Guess who this place sided with in that story...

Hint: it's always the guy with the gun.

And I remember at least one regular here who said the shooting was justified too.
