NAO2 approval email...how do I track progress now?

Forgive my ignorance, I have tried searching to find the answer!

Rather than wait for the hard copy to arrive, now we know we are approved I read in the forums of people saying they have seen that the paperwork has been sent to NVC and when it is sent on to London. Can someone tell me how I can find this please?

We are hoping for a Thanksgiving wedding and I have already downloaded and completed all the forms needed for London, have my Police certificate and vaccinations.....when can I start the ball rolling and call someone to get a case number, and know that my case is on its way to London so I can book an interview for my medical??!!

Thank you so much, - so excited today after 171 day wait for approval! :)

If you experience anything like in our case you will get an email once it has been shipped to the NVC, for us it took about 3 weeks to get that email and then I waited a week before contacting them. Call the department of state visa services over the NVC, as they can tell you if they have received it or not. I used https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx? once i got our case number from the DoS to track it from there. Which took a few more days to say it was in transit to the Embassy.

I hope this helps you get an idea of what to expect next and how to track it.

Thank you so much - I am just too impatient for my own good!!

When calling the DoS what information do they need, ie do you ask for a case number for an immigrant visa and give them your NAO2 receipt number, or our names etc?

Well when you do call them use this number: 202-663-1225 Press 1 for English and then 0 for an operator. Just inform the person why you are calling (Check if NVC has your file, and/or looking to see if you've been assigned a case number). They will ask for the case number or NoA2 receipt number, the beneficiaries's name and birth date. That's all I was asked.

You don't need the hard copy of NOA2 for anything but your adjustment of status so receiving it in order to carry on is a non-issue. Calling NVC can let you know when the case arrived and when it left for London. Call whenever you like, but if you only got notice today, it may not have left USCIS yet.

Well done having your London prep done,

We are figuring on calling next monday, just on the offchance there is an update!!

Yep, I am form filled, documents copied, photos taken, affidavit of support signed and tax returns at the ready......all set to go !!!! - AND I finally accepted an offer on my house after 6 months on Saturday, so it looks like things might all tie up together - YAY!

(Although since I filled in the forms in May I have been back to the USA last month so I guess I need to amend the 'last date visited' and get a new barcode before I submit it to London?)

Thanks Charles, don't know how I managed to do it twice.

Miss Lilo there is an excellent thread by Nich-Nick which details EVERYTHING that I found sooo helpful http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/?hl=%20nvc%20%20phone%20%20number - its long but detailed and very informative.

Good luck!

Hi St&Sv! Quick question... probably you can help me because I´m a little bit lost here... that number you are giving is the one for the NVC to call and have the new tracking number? What is exactly the DoS??? We got the NOA2, a week ago and we want to check if the papers are already in the NVC.

Many Thanks!!! :)

Congratulations!! Call NVC within the next week!! My NOA2 was July 17, and I had a LND# 8 days later! Then, since you already have the police certificate, you may book the medical to get another step out of the way.

Personally, I waited until the DoS status said 'in transit' before I had my fiance book his medical in London, just to make sure our documents would get paired up once our case gets to the embassy. My fiance just booked the medical today, and currently there is a 15 day wait, so I would like to think that is plenty of time for them to receive and process our case!!
