I don't see what your sexuality has to do with anything. The question the USCIS will be asking is "was this marriage entered into genuinely?". If yes, no problem. If no, then you have issues.

And I think a person can only apply for asylum within one year of arrival to the US, with exception of extraordinary circumstances that prevent them from filing within the one-year window.

Immigrant fee paid on ELIS - Jan 24th

POE - Jan 25th

Update on GC and SSN

(as of March 14th, 2014)

ELIS status - Closed (Card produced)

USCIS case check with receipt number (starts with IOE) - Card delivered in the mail

SSN - Received (Went to SSA location to apply for one)

I'm just worried because we stayed together just 5 months since I arrived to the States then we got divorced. I don't have a lot of evidence!!

as a lease or bills just my name figured on a tax statement and a bank account that's all and some emails between us while I was in my country waiting for the approval

If you are in USA now, might as well prep the paperwork for ROC set.
