My conditional green card has expired. MY NOA letter is expiring, still no answer from USCIS.

What should I do? Should I call them and ask?

if you have two years and nine months would recommend you to apply for citizenship, including the two years of conditional residence, and year of your letter extension

Apply for citizenship (N-400), if possible. It usually does 1 of 2 things:

1. Makes them process the ROC very quickly as technically it should be adjudicated prior to the N-400.

2. Makes the ROC become "obsolete" as they now focus solely on the N-400.

Not good. This means you cannot travel outside the US and return without issues. Make an INFOPASS appointment at a local USCIS center or call them or do both. Use the link below.

Okay, when you have one month before your extension letter expires, make an infopass appointment and ask for a I-551 stamp in your passport as proof of LPR status. That will give you some more extension.

You can apply for citizenship by marriage after 2 years and 9 months (otherwise it is 4 years and 9 months). It is one of the perks of being married to the same spouse for 3 years.

I am in the same situation.

I made E-request 2 times Got letter from BAltimore,MD office, the are sorry for delay.

My case was in CSC I dont know why I got reply from Baltimore,MD??! if anybody had similar situation please let me know....

I made infopass (need to wait few more days)

I contact USCIS few times

Make an infopass appt take your docs specially our passport and they will gove you a stamp

OP, as many of us said above, you have few options.

1. Make an InfoPass appointment with the local USCIS office, bring your passport in and ask for an i-551 stamp which will extend your existing NOA1 letter for another year.

2. File for citizenship, if you are qualified. I.E. you are still married, and have passed the 2-years + 9 months "P.R. Since" date on your conditional card.

3. Get hold of your local congressman for assistant.

I am thinking I might have this situation pop up as well; my letter expires in September, and I travel for work quite a bit. re: the suggestions above, I have a couple of quirks, however:

1- My passport is expired; I cannot renew it until I get my new 10 year green card;

2- Applying for citizenship is not an option; I do not and will not be here for life, and as such, the 10 year card is what I want-no more, no less

So... for the Infopass appointment--is it possible to receive another extention letter? Any suggestions are welcome!
