(making this again cuz i cant reply to the other one for some reason)



So after only 2 months, 3 weeks and 5 days after receiving the NOA1 receipt, I just got a text msg tonight saying that my case is now updated and after signing on to uscis.gov I saw that my I-129 application was APPROVED!! dancin5hr.gif Pretty quick I'd say? I read tonight that 140 days is the avg it's taking these days for NOA2 and ours came way before that!



Anyway........ if you would please be so kind to let me know what to do next. I'm particularly interested to see the "short-cuts" for the NVC as I know that's the next step & also getting her the originals, etc. Also, if anyone has a short-cut sheet for K-1 cuz the one I saw earlier today was only for the spousal visa. Am excited tonight!!!!



Also had an important question: she needs to take the nursing exam in December and i know there's around a 4-month gap that they give after they send the NOA2, which would put us at the end of Nov. But... if I go ahead and do what I need to be done now (the short cuts & stuff for NVC) and she gets called to do interview and is not yet ready to come here, can the interview and medical and other things be delayed until she passes her board exam in Dec? Also, when she's interviewed and (approved), would she be on a time constraint to leave the country or can this be taken at our leisure, so I could go there and travel back here to the U.S. together, etc............

Congrats to another may noa1 approved in a short space of time. I am a nurse. Is she taking the Nclex or nursing exam in the Philippines?

I know once visa is issued you have a 6months timeframe to use it. As for NVC there is no short cuts its just depends on when it gets sent and how quick your contacted for medical and interview etc.

Yes she's a nurse too, taking the NLE in Dec. NCLEX I believe is just offered here in the U.S. no?

Well, I read some NVC short-cuts by a couple folks that made it but it was for the Spousal Visa and not the K1.... surely someone has an NVC shortcut for K1 petitioners too?

Yes I took my Nclex 2010 and so still hold my licence as a nurse in Georgia. Makes life easier to transition and go straight in to a job since nurse jobs are in abundance in the US.

I did my Nclex exam here in the UK. They started offering the exam here in 2005. I believe she would need to travel to the US to sit hers.

Yes there's been many May approvals,

I just got approved yesterday so am in the same boat in regards to how long NVC will take. My only consultation is that my file was not transferred so it may cut some time down for me.on the UK site here people seem to have been receiving theres in a two week period so fingers. I would say start calling after a week.

I sent you information in your inbox. My fiance is now just getting his tax forms letter from employer and 3 pay stubs ready along with affidavits of support forms now. He has told his employer today he needs a letter. Yes wait a week before calling cos to be honest it would be a waist of time calling them now since approval was only yesterday.

I keep my fingers cross for your fiancée to pass her nurse exam. It really was not a easy exam and well one needs endurance to sit down for 6 hours praying computer will shut down soon cos lord knows how I managed it. You will both be fine once she has got a licence to work as a nurse.

Our K-1 VISA Process & NCLEX-RN Exam Status

  • 04/24/2013 - I-129F Sent
  • 04/29/2013 - NOA1 Touched
  • 05/02/2013 - Left to visit my baby for the 3rd time!
  • 05/03/2013 - NOA1 Hardcopy received
  • 06/04/2013 - Flight back to the U.S.
  • 07/29/2013 - NOA2 (approval text) received (only 87 days since NOA1 Notice Date)
  • 08/02/2013 - NOA2 Hardcopy received
  • 08/14/2013 - Mailed all necessary post-NOA2 docs to sweetheart in preparation for her medical/interview!
  • 08/19/2013 - Manila Case # given by NVC (exactly 3 wks since NOA2)
  • 08/26/2013 - Manila Case # Hardcopy received, perfect timing for...
  • 08/26/2013 - Our 1-year ANNIVERSARY! dancin5hr.gif
  • 08/28/2013 - Post-NOA2 docs received (only 13 days!)
  • 09/02/2013 - Filed college credentials for CGFNS
  • 09/03/2013 - Paid $240 visa fee at BPI
  • 09/03/2013 - Mailed fingerprints to MorphoTrust
  • 09/04/2013 - Interview calendar (finally) viewable
  • 09/11/2013 - Releasing of credentials @ UPH
