I had my medical exam at St. Luke's yesterday, July 29th and i am so happy that i was able to passed.

I would like to share the experience here with my VJ friends dancin5hr.gif

Brought the Following:

1. 3pcs of 2x2 picture

2. 2 copies of passport page with signature and the PASSPORT itself

3. 2 copies of Online Registration at St. Lukes (from the SLEC online application)

4. 2 copies of my Interview Appointment Letter - which is a 4 pages paper, they need all four not just the first page of the email sent by the National Visa Center

5. Proof of your Visa Preference Category - For example, if you are an IR1, you need to show them the proof of how do you know that you are an IR1 preference. Good thing i brought with me some letters from NVC. I have the choice of agent receipts confirmation from them that shows the visa preference and the checklist confirmation letter NVC sent when they received the DS230.

Here's my St. Luke's Medical Timeline:

9:45 pm -- Arrival in Manila, stayed with my cousin in Malate

1:30 am -- Arrived at St. Luke's --- wow i arrived a bit early...no guard around yet, good thing that there's lights everywhere. It's raining and it's cold.

1:43 am -- A lady named Mary Joy from Cebu arrived with her neighbor. She said they stayed in a hotel nearby.

2:00 am Arrival of a group of pinays who also stayed together in a hotel (i heard they talked via fb group-great to have good friends) -- we're 7 now...nice chitchat

3:19 am -- My stomache - feels hungry and feels like pooping (oops sorry) but ofcourse i need to wait

3:23 am -- This time people are lined up and everyone looks panicking, getting a last minute photos at the nearby cafe and printing of online registrations. I realized that not everyone have knowledge of the Online Registration, so if you are a petitioner, remind the beneficiary of this whether they are your spouse, fiance, children or parents. Most parents there doesn't know the online thing, the problem is that they also have problem in their eyes and that makes it difficult for them to write too.

3:30 am -- My husband asked "how many people are there na?" ... well we're 19 plus 3 just living the taxi. (husband and i used the chat application on fb--- a free one for me coz i used the Suncellular free Facebook)

4:00 am -- 1 security guard arrived...found out that there's also another guard inside sleeping.

4:35 am -- went inside SLEC - sad that the lady next to me (2nd in line) needed to get a new 2x2 photo since earrings on photo is not allowed on SLEC and for USEM interview. So the result, she came in 9th in line. I noticed that there's a line for those who have Online Application and those who needed to fill out the forms (mostly the parents)

4:35 am to 5:30 am -- im on a sleep mode...waiting at the Ground Floor of SLEC

5:45 am -- Ground Floor - the guard called out for numbers 1 to 5 --- glad i'm the first in line...went to the window for checking of the things i brought and there the staff ask how do i know that i am an IR1 preference category. She ask me to provide the paper after i'm done with the medical. There's also fingerprinting here. And get just 1 pc of the 2x2 picture.

5:50 am - Fifth Floor - they get my vital signs - blood pressure is 100/70..NORMAL. The nurse also asked for the first day of my last menstruation which was the 17th of July.

5:55 am -- weigh and eye test with the Nurse named Iver. I wore contact lenses, he asked me to take it off for awhile after reading the letters...and then read again without the lenses, which i wasn't able to do coz i cant read without the contact lens.

6:20 am -- Fourth Floor - laboratory - i am not afraid of the needle...but this time I am maybe because i am also nervous about the result of the medical..yay. At the reception, the staff (man) will ask of the first day of your last menstruation too and if you have allegies to medicines. And then he gave me a plastic bottle. So here, the nurse in one room calls us and get a blood sample In that room there's a restroom, actually open restroom with just a division for the urinal. Need to pee...you have to filled up the spaces in the bottle. If not, you have to drink water and wait til you pee again so you will filled up the bottle.

6:45 am -- Third Floor - here they will have you get half naked - no bras and then make sure you bring with you a ponytail for your hair. You will wear apron-like/hospital dress. Get in the room and reach for the xray pad for your head and then both arms beside you and INHALE for 3-4 seconds...then finished

7:13 am -- Second Floor - Immunization Interview with Dr. Ember Gera - she closed the door and asked me if i have allergies on medicines and food. I said i have allergies for food like chicken, bagoong and shrimp. And then she asked if i have Urinary Track Infection, Cancer, Diabetes, Kidney Problem, Heart Attacked before, if i've been sicked seriously, ask also if i have some psychological problem in the past, vaccination in the past. I show her the scar on my left shoulder, its from a vaccine when i was in elementary..ad i don't know what kind of vaccine is that. And she asked if i have the scar for my chickenpox and i show her. She said they will give me 3 shots something like the sound for tetanus, mmr and influenza. And yes, she asked about the first day of my last menstruation.

7:30 am -- Fifth Floor - Physical Exam. Waited for Dr. GPML until 8am. She first interview me. Ask about the first day of my last menstruation and what course did i took in college. Then asked again about different illness/sickness and allergies. Then asked me to go to undress and get myself in the bed and cover myself with the apron-like/hospital dress...she said JUST COVER not wear it, so i did. She check for scars on my wrist but i don't have that so we proceed to the next thing. She have this equipment for the eye that i don't know..seems like its not working..found out there's a problem with the battery and so she wasn't able to use it for me. She then touched my stomach..slide her hands on it four times and also check my breast. After that she asked me to turn to my left, bend the waist and your knee must reach the stomach, and hold your right legs with your right hand...this is the ### thing that people are talking about. And then she asked me to turn right and get dress...whoa.

Go to the US counter and then they will tell you to proceed to 3rd Floor at the Check Out Counter where you will know when will you come back for possible vaccination wen you don't have any problem with your X-ray.

Waited and the staff finally told me to come back at 1:30pm. Whoa so this means i don't have problem with the x-ray. Whereas the others are asked to go to the Pulmonary Section of the building. There you will noticed a direction for sputum test. Thanks be to God i passed the x-ray.

8:30 am -- went out to get some food...found a guapple bought it for P40.00...look for places for food and saw Chic-Boy and eat there...and afterwards, i also poop there hahaha after hours of waiting. Got the BRUNCH.

10:00 am -- went back to SLEC to ........ sleep on one of the chairs in the 3rd floor. I didn't get a lot of sleep since people kept on coming (the same ladies im with since 2am) to talk about the things that i experienced. Some of them didn't have a good x-ray result, some haven't had the physical exam yet. This made me glad, that i came in early for the medical.

1:00 pm -- staff at the 3rd floor called out my name (i thought she said to come back at 1:30 pm...she's early) just to tell me to go to the Second Floor where they will call for my name but told me it will just take a long time to wait...well i guess its ok as long as i'll have the vaccination today. So waited there until 3:00pm...

3:30 pm -- Immunization Room for shots. So here i got 3 shots but before that, the nurse asked on the first day of my last menstruation. And then calm me by giving out good and funny jokes. I got 2 shots on my left shoulder and 1 on the right. First shot is ok, the second one is a bit painful and the shot on my right shoulder does hurt...until now that i'm writing this. And then handed me a pink paper for immunization instruction (which i hope they give before the giving out shots and while waiting outside..yay). Then asked me to go to the ground floor.

4:30 pm -- Ground Floor - Window D staff got my papers. And asked for my passport, write something on it. gave me my x-ray CD and instructed me not to open it. I will bring the CD to the US. She also handed me my receipt and the form for my shots. She also asked for another 2 copies of my 2x2 picture and the proof of my preference category. And congratulate me for a passed medical exam.

FINISHED..woohoo. Thank you VJ friends and sharers, i learned a lot from the posts.

Some things i also noticed that i would like to share:idea9dv.gif

1. The chair you will be sitting outside is not free...it will cost you P10.00. This is one of the business outside aside from them selling you ballpens.

2. Gel point pens are not allowed according to them, so just bring the ordinary Pilot pen or HBW pen or Panda Pen.

3. Passport Cover are also being sold outside the building. It will cost you P35.00 to P40.00 on those who are walking around and selling vendors. But try to go to the nearby store it will only cost you P25.00...i did haha.

4. Bring water and candy.. Food are not aloud inside.

5. SLEC don't require stool check so that's ok.

6. Expect cries from both the children and the adult during vaccinations. I myself was teary cray5ol.gif after the shots. It hurts.

7. Be patient.ClockWatch2.gif Since i don't have a tablet or smart phone, i brought a book with me that i read while waiting. (in between sleeping haha)

8. Be healthyenergy.gif so there will be no problems during the exam.

9. Read a lot on Visa Journey, this will help make things easier when you get there.

Thank you once again. And my interview is set on 7th August. Oh wow!!!!! dancin5hr.gif

that's true memphis....and be healthy so there will be no problem with the medical results. Take care of yourself...especially the lung part because this might be the cause of the delay.

For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
