Ok, I am applying next week for both my AOS & EAD. I phoned USCIS and spoke with an operator.

She said that once I recive the recipt notice from USCIS, saying that they have recived my application for AOS & EAD, then I can set up an InfoPass appointment with my local office to get an over the counter temporary EAD, whilst my EAD application is being processed.

Is what she saying accurate? Im sure they know what they are talking about but it sounds to easy.

thanks

The info you were given is wrong..... you can not go an get an EAD from the local office... as of Sept 1st 2006 local office stopped issuing EAD's to people who have waited more than 90 days from receipt... now all they can do is send a request to the processing center to ask for a decision to be make on your EAD...

expect to wait anywhere between 70 to 90 days+ for your EAD...
