What did you bring your paperwork to the interview in? I bought a plastic accordion type folder. I am concerned about it being to big.

Do I also bringing the entire duplicate of my original I-129F packet? I also have that in a plastic folder. Do you think that 2 plastic folders is too much to bring?

03/04/2014- Used Advance Parole document to re-enter after a visit to Canada (without any issues)!

03/09/2014- checked USCIS website and saw update saying "Card/Document production" for I-485

03/13/2014-AOS approved. Received Welcome Letter (i-797)

03/17/2014-Green Card arrived in the mail

3/9/2017- Rec'd approval letter in mail. 

3/21/2017- Text and emails stating card was mailed out

3/24/2017- Rec'd Greencard in the mail

I was thinking of bringing 2 paper folders myself. One with all the stuff, and one with my originals, so I don't get them mixed up. Been thinking of bringing my copy of the I-129F too, though I think it might be too much. ><

Packet 4 received - 2013/08/12

Interview scheduled -2013/09/11

POE - 2013/09/20 (By car at Highgate/Vermont)

come prepared you never know what they will ask for. don't forget to ask for the originals back your going to need them later for your aos in your journey good luck.

I also took an accordian folder to the interview and mark the originals. My then fiancee and I took all that we had (pics, skype, etc) so that if they ask we would have it, but we were never asked for anything so I would take it just in case. Good luck at your interview!!

Plastic accordian folder that had many different slots--and then after the interview kept using it for more immigration paperwork!! Jotted down the dates I traveled out of the USA....as they aske that question if u ever naturalize!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Thanks Flame... you reminded me once again to keep track of it. What a pain! I think I am just going to put the dates on Google Calendar and look back... I am so tired of paperwork piles everywhere and wouldn't know where to stick that particular one!

June 30, 2015 - 10 year greencard in hand

January 25, 2016 - N400 Application Mailed

May 11, 2016 - Citizenship Interview + same-day Oath ceremony!
