Hay naku, cjmc. You're a nice enough guy, but I guess you didn't get that I was being facetious in the other thread. You should know better than to try and elicit supercilious comments on a message board - especially from a Filipina. What did you really expect to read?

The whole idea of this thread was to get some honest remarks about the topic....oops8rh.gif Maybe I was wrong to ask such a thing secret7vf.gif

She says she loves you, and in her heart that is probably true, but without that green card, she would never get that chance. If she met you in the Philippines, and you managed to convince her to marry you, so that you could spend the rest of your life with her in the Philippines, she would never let you out of her sight -- Not because she doesn't trust you, but because she is afraid some younger or more beautiful Pinay would steal you away from her.

Even if the Topic has been brought to attention several times in the past it is good to get new prospective from members.

Who is babling about Green Cards. Hopefully not you! It is part of the Process.

I really don't know why Pinays connect with American Men.. But American men know "Them There Pinays are to Sexy to Resist".. Just my feeling

I wasn't looking for a Filipina when I found my fiance, it just happened the way it happens anywhere; two people hit it off and have compatible personalities.

From visiting my fiance and being around her family I was amazed at the true sense of family with them. I felt more at home there than I have anywhere. She's a person I like first as a best friend, then she's a woman I love. I guess that's the way it should be.

You can find love anywhere in the world and the reasons are too numerous to even explain.

I'm at home with her. That's the best explanation that I can come up with.

A better life, a green card, a way to support family, to escape poverty.

This sounds like marriage fraud to me.

Let's remove the words "green card," and apply the rest: "a better life, a way to support a family, to escape poverty" to the female American population.

Oops...I guess most American women who want the same thing, excepting the green card, are engaging in marriage fraud too.

If a person who wants these things look for a real and quality relationship--it's not fraud; it is the normal set of needs and desires that the world has run on for eons.

Of course 99% divorce won't happen for filipinos/filipinas. They only do annulment rolleyes.gif

I'm not sure that separating and then finding someone new isn't almost as prevalent in the Philippines as divorce is in the USA. Not giving a low cost way for them to divorce, doesn't mean every married couple stays together for life.

America is a country of Immigration....that is how it all started......way back when...

The drive for people to immigrate to this country has always been about freedom and to find a better way of life.

I have personally found that the Filipina I am going to marry has strong family values and shows great compassion and love for me....

"True love" is a two way street....unconditionally giving to your partner to make them happy....when this attitude is in place with both partners.....WoW !!! that is certainly true love heart.gif

I have found this now and have had a hard time finding it in the US in the past with other relationships.

Just my thoughts !!!

cjmc

I couldn't have said it better. You describe our feelings in your post. Thanks for responding as it reinforces why most of us on VJ have found an angel when we met our Filipina. dancin5hr.gif

I can only speak for to what my own wife told me, on why she was open to a relationship with a foreigner. Her view was too many Pinoy cheat. It happened to her once with her only other bf, who she expected to marry, and she never wanted it to happen again. American men are viewed as more faithful, at least in her view. As to the green card, she'd ditch the green card and the better economic life in a moment if I'd move to the Philippines with her. And I mean there wouldn't be even one second delay, she'd be grabbing bags and packing while telling me to start the car.
