Is this good or bad? My NOA1 was issued February 24 and my online record was updated on February 28. No explanation was given online. Why would it be touched so quickly? Does it mean that I made a mistake? The only other thing that I can think of is that my check was cashed about that time.

02-21-2006 Mailed K-1 application to Nebraska.

02-23-2006 USPS online confirmation of delivery.

02-24-2006 NOA1 (received 03-02-2006).

02-28-2006 Touched - first time.

03-01-2006 Check cashed.

05-03-2006 NOA2 - 68 days from NOA1.

05-16-2006 NVC received application.

06-27-2006 NOA2 again?

08-08-2006 Interview at Kiev embassy.

08-09-2006 Received the K-1 visa.

10-07-2006 Arrived at JFK airport.

10-26-2006 Applied for Social Security card.

12-29-2006 Married!!!

01-03-2007 Received Social Security card.

01-22-2007 Mailed I-485, I 765, and I-131 forms.

01-26-2007 NOA for I-485, I-765, and I-131.

01-27-2007 Received Illinois state ID card and driver's permit.

02-15-2007 Biometrics appointment.

02-28-2007 Received driver's license.

03-08-2007 I-485 approved.

03-15-2007 Received Permanent Resident Card.

03-15-2007 Applied for Social Security Card with married last name.

Being touched means something is being done. Anything being done with your petition is good. If you made a mistake, you'll get something in the mail in the next few days. Relax. You'll be fine.

Dec. 25, 2005 - Went to Phils to meet her the first time

January 7, 2006 - Mailed I-129F to Nebraska Service Center.

January 27, 2006 - Received NOA1.

April 18, 2006 @1859 cst - NOA2 - APPROVED!

July 15, 2006 - Packet 4 received

September1, 2006 - Medical

September 8, 2006 - Interview - APPROVED!

October 15, 2006 - Arrived in USA

November 4, 2006 --- WEDDING!!!

April 20, 2007 - Mailed AOS

May 18, 2007 - Biometrics

July 26, 2007---GREEN CARD!(no interview)

April 13, 2009 - Mailed I-751 for Removal of Conditions

May 5, 2009 - NOA (extension approved)

May 18, 2009 - Biometrics appointment arrived today-scheduled for May 29, 2009

August 13, 2009 - Approval for removal of conditions (originally delayed due to RFE)

August 20, 2009 - 10 year green card arrived in mail

June 9, 2010</ - Treygan Isaiah is born

June, 21, 2010 - My adoption of Nathan is finalized

No lawyers and no problems

First...Congrats! Welcome to the club!

Second, you will get your NOA1 quickly. It is just saying that USCIS received your I-129F.

NOA2 is the one that takes months.

The laws are changing in the beginning of march requiring criminal background checks of the Americans. It's my guess USCIS is "cleaning out the pipeline".

2/2/2006 I-129F delivered to NSC

2/6/2006 NSC NOA1 - Received!

2/8/2006 NSC NOA2 - Approved!

2/10/2006 NSC mails K1 to NVC

2/20/2006 NVC received K1

2/27/2006 NVC Mail K1 to Kiev

3/9/2006 Kiev Receives K1

3/10/2006 FAX'ed appointment letter to Kiev

3/14/2006 Scheduled interview in Kiev

4/10/2006 Appointment in Kiev

4/10/2006 K-1 Visa Received

I noticed that you and I are both from Chicago and have Ukrainian fiances. Congratulations to you. How did you get the NOA2 so fast? It looks from your timeline that you received it almost immediately.

12/05.......Spent 10 days in Bogor and Bali and got engaged

1/14/06....Mailed I-129F Package to VSC via FEDEX(Day1)

1/17/06....Package picked up at FEDEX depot and signed for by G.MERRIHEW(Day4)

1/23/06....Check cashed(Day10)

1/25/06....NOA1 via snailmail dated 1/19/06(Day12)

1/28/06....Checked case status on USCIS website. NOA2 approved 1/25/06(Day15)

1/30/06....NOA2 via snailmail dated 1/25/06; Called NVC and received case#(Day17)

2/02/06....Fiancee picks up "fiancee" packet 3 from Jakarta embassy(Day20)
