Writting on the back of photos?

I am preparing photos to go in my I-129F package for initial evidence. I have had a bit of trouble with writing on the back of the photos because the ink always smears even after trying over night. I am using a felt pen as recommended in the I-129F instructions. I have also tried using a pencil but I do not like it because it is too light. I do not want to use a sharpie because I am afraid it will show on the front of the photo.

My solution is to write the information on an index card and then use packaging tape to attach the card to the back of the photo.

Does this sound like a good idea? Technically the instructions say write on the back of the photos, but I assume the point is to write the information such that it is readable and does not damage the photo by being visible on the front side. Using the index card solves both problems. What do you guys think? Could doing it this way cause any problems?

I have a better solution, print your pictures out on regular paper (4 to a page is best IMO), and you can type a notation for each picture.

I printed on label stock and affixed those up the backs of the photos.

all grat ideas, i do suggest marking them some how, I forget and worried for 5 months about getting RFE'ed, i was lucky and was not, but the worring was horrible

My fiancé used Pencil at the back of the photos and it works
