Fiancee is on the train to Guangzhou interview.

The fiancée left today for the interview at the New Consulate .Its On August 1st. A 15 hour sleeper car. She has a hotel reservation, and a medical place. Apparently there's 8 women she knows getting interviews the same day. The QQ team 6, and two others. Then they are doing dinner afterwards. I hope they all make it. How awkward to have dinner with an interview failure.

She made the arrangements by herself. And my attorney over there booked the hotel reservation. Because my fiancé has no credit card. And she can pay him when she gets back. And she will tell him if the hotel, is ok for his other clients.

She hasn't been too confident about the interview. And losing sleep. And I havn't been able to build any in her. Low self esteem in Chinese women runs deep.

But somebody she knows passed hers interview yesterday. And she is much happier. And apparently resting on the train.

I got a little bit of phone time with her on the train. But the sound goes away a lot.

I'm glad we are almost to the end.

I called and She made it to the hotel. She said no sleep on the train all night. Too noisy. That's 16 hours. I bet she was up 6 before that. And the hotel is far from the embassy. She says maybe she can't get a cab. That happened to me in Luizhou. A hospital that cabs won't go too. She has to take her medical exam papers to some hospital for a red paper today. Whatever that is. She is going up to the room to shower . Then eat.

Apparently tomorrow No agenda. I don't know.

But I'm hitting the sack too.

The soft sleepers are well worth the extra money in my estimation, but I sleep like a log even on the hard sleepers (up to 14 hours).

We stayed at one hotel near the train station which was a five minute walk (and two shirt changes) or a 15 minute cab ride from the consulate. The cabs have trouble navigating the traffic and street closures in that area. Yes, some won't want to take you where you're going. Don't know about the new consulate, though.

Fiancee is not approved. And is in administrative processing . An investigation over her first K1. It takes 3-6 months most likely. I made another post about it.

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
