so which is it, the black community needs to unite and fix what ails them? or the black community should no longer separate themselves from the rest of population for solidarity purposes? you can't have it both ways. seems a petty thing to be upset about..

but but i want my own color caucus...they get one, i want one too. no fair.

No one is upset. At least I'm not.

Either you want to be equal, or you don't. Pretty simple.

i don't know what human equality has to do with solidarity. you do want the black community to address their specific issues, correct?

Are these places explicitly called something like the congressional white caucus?

That's the beauty of it, it doens't have to be called CWC to be only white people.

Here's the rest of the story:

Quite simply, Rep. Cohen will have to accept what the rest of the country will have to accept—there has been an unofficial
Congressional White Caucus for over 200 years
, and now it's our turn to say who can join 'the club.' He does not, and cannot, meet the membership criteria, unless he can change his skin color. Primarily, we are concerned with the needs and concerns of the black population, and we will not allow white America to infringe on those objectives.

It's astounding that for so long we were kept out of so many things, and yet this was never an issue. Now that we have things that are exclusive to just us, like 2 things, the CBC and the NBC, folks are up in arms.

Nice try.

The point I have made in other threads is that the black community is all up in arms over this thing in Florida, yet doesn't seem to care about the 1000s of black children and young people being killed in U.S. cities. My point was, and still is, if they want to be up and arms about injustices to their community, they should look there first.

What makes you think that no one cares about anything but GZ? That's silly.

So again, why do they need an "official" Congressional Black Caucus?

Just when you thought people here were moving on from it ... it's brought up again for no reason.

Not silly at all. You must not pay attention to what goes on in the news media and all the outrage from the black community. That's silly.

It was brought up for a reason. Your English comprehension skills are failing you again. I was making a comparison to all the outrage and attention that trial received from the black community, yet all the crime and murder in their own communities is barely a blip on the radar.

I comprehend English just fine.

You seem intent on comparing everything to GZ lately, even when it's not necessary. You did it to me earlier today as well.

You are one of the people who wanted so badly for the trial to be talked about less and less, but when another "black issue" comes up, it's the first thing you jump to.

I jump to it because of the attention it received from all of these so-called leaders of the black community, while the real issues in their community are ignored.

As if so-called leaders of the white community don't.

This post is about the violence in the black community, there is no mention of GZ in the article at all. Yet you're the one bringing it up here.
