Even though "shall issue" concealed carry has reduced crime in every jurisdiction it has been implemented in and has the greatest benefit to those most affected by crime...miniorities and women...the Democrats in Chicago and notably Dem Governor Quinn attempted to veto IL's concealed carry law. His veto was over-ridden. The veto was even non-sensical since the court ordered carry regulations took precedence until the state implemented their own law. It was sort of like the exact way we fought Democrats on cicil rights and segregation...a court order to fill the gap until legislation was passed. It is a process that has worked in the past for ending oppression by Democrats. I mean we just were NOT going to get the Dems to give equal rights to blacks without a court order, it was legislatively impossible until ordered by a court. But Quinn's attempt would have been like the Democrat Governor of Alabama standing in front of the University with armed troops defying a court order to integrate....Oh, yeah, that happened also.

In the meantime, 10s of thousands of IL residents licensed in other states began carrying concealed handguns in IL last December under the court ruling which required IL to recognize other states licenses. There was a rush of IL residents to take the Concealed Carry classes of other states prior to IL implementing their own law this month.

The mere 10s of thousands already carrying concealed have had marked effect on crime in Chicago and when the state has issued hundreds of thousands of permits we can expect to see even more young black men and women spared from crime.

It is great news and for once I agree with you 100% Maven. It is the best news the residents of Chicago's crime ridden, perpetually Dem controlled, neighborhoods could have received.

1. Limit Federal Govt.

2. Conserve social values and institutions which have proven beneficial to liberty and society.

3. Preserve the ability of national defense.

AS for "Lesbo Butches" and all that, there has been research done (the most indepth ever) which show children of Lesbians fare much worse in life in nearly all facets. Some quite alarming, such as sexual abuse, poverty suicide attempts and unstable relationships of their own.

Keep in mind this study deals with GROWN CHILDREN of various forms of parenting models.
