This is weird, I never had problems getting an NBI clearance, my last NBI clearance was this year of March and never had problem although it is for employment.

But today, staff told me to come back Aug 20th (my interview is Aug 12th) because I may have a duplicate name which I feel very impossible. I never had problems before. Now I don't know what to do, I feel there's something wrong with the branch where I got my NBI said they can expedite it I already have a flight ticket. Very unlikely!! Tomorrow I will go to the main branch in UN Taft, and see what will happen, if hit I am hoping it would only take weeks.

Any had experience like this before?! How did you go about it? I don't want to reschedule my interview anymore ugh.

So sorry to hear that. Yeah i heard that problem before and some take months. My fiancee got hers in 2 weeks but prior to that it took her a month because shes got a common name. Hope the best for you. Yeah maybe you can go to the main branch and hopefully the turnaround is faster...

My wife had a hit with her NBI, same name issue, it too an extra week for NBI but all was good come interview time.

I experienced the same thing last year they asked me to come back a week after my scheduled interview and i also had my ticket to Manila at that time so i asked one of the staff if they could expedite my clearance as i need it for my interview at the embassy (it differs from branches to branches i guess) and they ok'd my request under a condition of paying extra for the so-called "long distance" idk where but yea i got it after few days.

I also gave the same advice before for someone here in vj who had the same problem and the staff ok'd his request too but he didnt pay extra anymore so i would suggest that you ask the staff if there is a way to expedite your clearance as you need it for your interview.

If they will not grant the request i have read some thread here too that they received 221g at the embassy and then mailed the NBI clearance after they received it and got their visa.

Hope this helps.God bless your journey :)

Hi ryro, thank you very much for sharing this. I just got out of Nbi main branch in UN Taft and now I got a date earlier of Aug 13 which is still pass my interview date I guess I have to try my luck on continuing my interview at the embassy and just mail it. My only question now is how long will it take for me to process my visa if there will be any difference. Well no one knows it depends. But i would just pursue my interview then. I'll look for that thread and what happened to the beneficiary after getting a form 221g.

Hi. I suggest you go to the main branch at UN ave as they can expedite that for you. I applied for an NBI clearance at one of their satellite branches on Thursday (7-25). I was really hoping that I wouldn't have any problems and would get it that day. But boy was I wrong. They gave me a piece of paper stating that I should come back on Aug 15. I was like, oh hell nah. My interview is on the 30th of july (which was earlier today). They said that they have to comply to the embassy's request to triple check records even if your name doesn't have any "hit". So I went directly to the main branch and spoke with someone and she put a priority note on my receipt and tada, I got my clearance that same day!

Just bring your previous copy 'cos they will that get that from you when they expedite your request. Good luck! :)

You mean previous copy of NBI Clearance? And Whom did you talk to? I can't find any staff who's kind to answer my inquiry regarding the expedite process.

Yes, bring a copy of your previous NBI clearance. You may want to ask the person sitting on their information booth for the right person you can talk to with regard to your concern. Or if you couldn't get a decent response from them, you may proceed at the ADPD located on the 4th floor. I totally forgot the name of the woman who assisted me on that department but she was the one who expedited my request.

I brought the receipt from the one of the satellite branches and showed it to them along with my previous copy of NBI clearance. :)

Try to go there in the afternoon 'cos it's a lot quicker and there are only a few people requesting for clearance. :)

Good luck on your journey! I hope you'll get your clearance before your interview. 'Cos it'll delay your visa a bit when you have missing documents.

Is your previous copy less than 1 year old?

It's odd that it takes so long for them to do this. My fiancee got her's the same day in Davao (but no issue with name).

Yes, I just got it March 2013. The lady told me that when getting a green form, it's an Auto-Hit because they need to "triple check" my record; and I was surprised that some of you got their NBI clearances on the same day while I'm suffering here lol.
