Some questions about the medical.

Craig called and the message said that you need to be there at 7:30am to get your medical. So does that mean there is no appointmnet? It's kinda just first come first serve? Also, what days do they do the medicals on? And, they really are same day right? Craig lives NO WHERE near any of the other doctors, and we'd like to tack it on to the interview trip if possible.

Oh, and also, is he pretty willing to hand out the vaccination copy for AOS?

hey, i just had mine on the 22nd...no apointment but show up early it's kinda first come first serve. i was there at about 6:30, you wait in a line, fill out some papers, get given a #, then do bloodwork, chest x-rays, and the exam. pretty easy but bring a book. they'll ask you to come back at 2 to pick up the results. i think they told me they only do it one day a week. and when you go back they give you the x-rays, an envelope for the consulate and a copy of vaccinations for you. hope it helps. (oh and the ladies at the desk were really nice)

yeah, when they called me back they told me to be there are 6:30. I got there closer to 6 actually! There were already 2 people ahead of me. It is first come first serve.

Hi,

I'll be having my medical in Vancouver also. Ok, since people are gonna be there at 6am in the morning, I think I will go there at 6am as well when my turn comes. Quick question though, can we 'enter' the building? i.e. We're not gonna be stuck outside the building right? The elevator won't be locked up, right? We can wait right outside the doc's office, right? Thanks for answering my questions. ^__^

I ended up there at 6AM by fluke - my bus came early! There was a building guy at the entrance letting people into the lobby, where we sat until just before 6:30 when he said it was ok to take the elevator up. So I can't actually say for a fact that you will be able to go in. I don't know if this guy is there each day, or if he just happened to be there that morning!

he was there when i got there too....you should be able to wait indoors on the first floor no problem (and there's chairs! lol)

I felt weird telling Craig he could check the medical exam part without having an appointment, but if that's the way it's going to be, that's the wat it's going to be!

At the time I did my medical (Middle of May) they only did the appointments on Wednesday and you had to make the appointment date with them ... The time for everyone is 6:30am and it is definately first come first serve ... I was like the 5th person to arrive ... As with others the building maintenance person is at the door to meet you and lets you in the lobby ... You wait there till 6:30am then he brings you up stairs ...

You then go to the reception desk and they give you paperwork to fill out (I ended up at the back of the line as many people got ahead of me from the elevator) ... Once you return the filled paperwork to the ladies at the reception desk is when they que you in order ... They give you a number at this point (since I was fast at the paperwork I got number 3) and that is the order you will do each of the different steps ... So the key thing is to get the paperwork filled out fast !!

Definately bring a book as there is alot of sitting around ... I was unable to return that day to get my results as I had to get my family doctor to forward some info regarding a condition that i have ... My doctor got the required info to them by fax a few days later and I returned the following Wednesday to get my results ... If your fiance has any medical conditions make sure he brings documents from his/her doctor so what happened to me won't happen ... Dr. Ian Morgan just wanted to make sure they had the required details from my family doctor to put in my file ...

I asked for a duplicate of my medical results and they gave me an extra copy at no extra charge. (Only one x-ray, though.)

They didn't keep the vaccination info at my K-3 interview. They pulled off the envelope and gave it back.

Did they give you a copy of entire medical exam or only copy of vaccination. If copy of entire medical exam, how about the case number, I mean when we apply AOS/EDA (adjust status) if use this copy, there is case number (K1 OR K3) on it.

It was a duplicate copy of the whole thing, except the x-ray. No idea about the case #; I used the second copy at the CR-1 interview (no need for AOS).

You can ask them on the phone. I asked to see if I could get a second copy when I booked my appointment.
