Possible problem at medical stage?

We've received a case complete and are now waiting for an interview date.

My wife does not have any prior vaccination history and she's not sure if she ever received any shots as a child.

She'll most likely need all shots required to enter the U.S.; should we schedule an 'early' medical to receive the immunizations? I'm worried that the case could be delayed for some of the immunizations that could last for 6 months (or so I've heard).

Any VJers have experience with this?

Thanks.

The majority of fold get the 3 basic shots. They are age appropriate. the ask her about her childhood and diseases she may have gotten and determine what shots. Not like she has to have everything on list.

Thank you - if she needs the basic shots - will this delay the interview? I've heard one of the shots needs to be spaced out 6 months. Does this delay the visa by that length of time?

What's your category and PD ?

Not sure what you mean by category and PD. Can you give an example of what you mean? Thanks!

Examples of category are F1, F2A, F2B, F3 and F4. Who petitioned you? Is the petitioner USC or LPR ? PD is priority date. It's the date when USCIS received the petition.

I'm the petitioner, a USC. Priority date is in October of 2012. It's for an IR1 I-130 spousal visa.

Thanks.

Oh ok. Regarding the immunizations they are included in the medical fee. The doctor at the authorized clinic will determine age appropriate vaccinations for your wife. Don't worry about it. Good luck on your spouse interview.

The 6 months is for Hepatitis shots which are not required. No one has a 6 month wait for shots medicals for every country is usually done within a wee. That is medical shots come back get results. No worries.

Cool. Finally had dwheels76 reply to one of my questions... now my visajourney feels almost complete. :)

The reason for my worry is that the state dept. website says that one of the shots requires 3 visits spaced out by 6 months or more.

Judging by the responses here I guess the medical won't be a problem then.

Thanks again!

Stop now you making meblush.png

If there are any follow up shots you can continue when you get here. i know of no one who has to start a medical 6 months ahead.

Only people who fail medical than have to have treatment now thats different. have you called your medical clinics there and ask what is the processing time. Liek Lagos is 4 days later you pick up results.
