I just checked the status of my k1 case on CEAC and typed in my case number (which starts with VAC) and it says:
"Your case is ready for you to schedule an interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal" As of July 26.

Montreal?? There is no way I can go there, that must be a mistake! I thought it was sent to the consulate closest to you? Is that update a mistake and just saying Montreal instead of Vancouver? Should I email the Vancouver consulate? I'm not sure what to do :(

If it has been sent to Montreal by mistake it will likely be re-directed to Vancouver, or you can request that they do so. K-1 visas can be interviewed in both Montreal and Vancouver. Immigrant visas, like the CR-1 spousal visa, however, can only be interviewed in Montreal. It sounds like an administrative error that should be easily resolved.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I had the same thing happen to me, they sent it to Montreal and it should have been Vancouver. I sent an email to Montreal requesting that it be sent to Vancouver and I also sent an email to Vancouver to let them know that I had requested to have my file sent to them since it was sent to Montreal but should have been Vancouver. It didn't seem to be a problem, it was transferred and everything went smoothly after that.
