Hello.

Here's my situation: Got here last October, applied for AOS in December, got EAD in March and have been working since, still no news from USCIS for my Green Card and i think i applied for an Advance Parole but i never received any document for it. Im not sure.

Now, my sister is having a terrible time being all alone In Albania, since my mom is married out of Albania too. Its my first time out of my home country for such a long time too and ive grown a little homesick. Me and Hubby are thinking of having her over for a couple of months, it would do both of us good.

Her situation in AL is: she finished high school, she has a permanent job for over a year now, she is 19 next month :). I know a little about tourist visas and i know its terribly Hard to get one but we still want to try all we have to loose is a couple of hundred of dollars.

My problem is: do we qualify? My husband has a daughter form his previous marriage and so she is totally dependent on him, he already submitted an Affidavit of Support for me for our K1, and now will the Embassy accept him to support another person? Or can I Support her?

I started working on March and i have had steady paychecks, i would be making more that 20K this first year. Can i do it even tho i dont have a green card yet?

How possible is any of this? What advice can anyone give? Help?

Thank you for your time,

Much Appreciated

A tourist visa for your sister has nothing to do with you, your husband, your mother, or anyone else aside from your sister.

No one can sponsor another person for a tourist visa. So your info and your husband's info are irrelevant.

Your sister needs to show why she would return after a brief visit. She needs to overcome the presumption that all visitors intend to immigrate to the US.

You and your husband are reasons for her to stay illegal in the US because you could help her.

The only way to know if she qualifies is to apply for a tourist visa. Focus on the reasons why she would return home after a visit. Do not load the application with all the wonderful connections she has to the US.

What sort of job does she have that would allow leave for a couple of months?

'we qualify' ? no.

'her qualify' ? maybe - depends on what is submitted on interview day and the interview itself.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Interesting, the nearest to Albania I have been is Corfu in the south and Sveti Stephan in the north, you could see Albania from both but not somewhere at least then you would holiday.

Corfu is in Greece and about that other Sveti, i have no idea where it is....

You could take a ferry from Italy and you would be to Albania in a few hours. Durres is where im from and its beautiful. You should google it.

Doesn't hurt to try, it's pretty cheap. Doesn't sound like a great chance would help if she was married or had kids or something. But sometimes that isn't consider enough for ties. They are pretty good at figuring things out they see a lot of cases.

Exactly. Hopefully she gets her visa, but anyways she has other plans after this. Shes going to mom to stay for a few months there too.

Bottom line is just a visit.

Needs job letter with decent salary , letter stating job is permanent

if she's taking classes , a school schedule she has to get back to

Her being involved & dependable in community affairs, Her pastor giving her a good moral

letter, a decent bank statement, maybe mom added her name to the house title,

as a young unmarried lady , tourists visa is hard to get but not impossible
