Could someone just confirm that I have everything?

I'm helping my grandmother apply for her citizenship and just want to double check.

It's been a little over 5 years. She's 71 and divorced.

So we have...

Money order

Application

Copy of green card, front and back

2 passport style photos

Copy of divorce document plus translation and notarized

Is that it....? it seems so little compared to what i've had to send for my ROC!

if you want status confirmations by email/sms then add form G-1145.

Updating NOA date. NOA doesn't say anything about biometrics it states:

"The above application has been received by our office and is in process. Our records indicate your personal information is as follows:

Birth Date

Address

City, State, Zip

Please verify your personal information listed above and immediately notify our office at the address or phone number listed below if there are any changes.

Upon receipt of all required Record Checks,, you will be scheduled to appear for an interview at your local USCIS field office"

Never mind my question. I checked online and saw the following love note from USCIS:

On August 20, 2013, we mailed you an appointment notice to have your fingerprints taken. Please follow the instructions on the notice. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Could someone just confirm that I have everything?

I'm helping my grandmother apply for her citizenship and just want to double check.

It's been a little over 5 years. She's 71 and divorced.

So we have...

Money order

Application

Copy of green card, front and back

2 passport style photos

Copy of divorce document plus translation and notarized

Is that it....? it seems so little compared to what i've had to send for my ROC!

Unless your grandmother is applying for change of name at the ceremony I can't see why the divorce decree is required. Filing for 5 years stops the need for a heap of things lol I just had my interview yesterday (I am a may filer, just love seeing people go through the process :) ) I filed on the 5 year basis and my paperwork was minimal.

There is a form to get email notifications (it was mentioned in the instructions) but I also applied online when I got my NBC case number.

Em is correct. If you've been divorced at any point you have to include those papers with your application even if it's a 5 year one. In the 5 year filing you don't have to include a marriage certificate but the divorce is a must as per the instructions, even without a name change.

When you get the certificate it shows your marital status at the time of citizenship so I'm guessing they want to verify what you put on the form (married, divorced or single). I also think it's a matter of collecting general information to put in their database.

Quick update, I just completed my biometric appointment here in Austin, TX.

My appointment was at 10:00, I arrived at around 09:40.

I gave my appointment letter to the officer/receptionist, then she gave me the USC naturalization test booklet and asked me to wait.

5 minutes later, she told the crowd who had 10:00 appointment (there were only few of us) to stand in line. Then, she called us one person at a time and gave us a form to fill in.

I spoke with the lady that took my fingerprints, she told me that she works with third party company.

Apparently, USCIS sub-contracted this process. She also told me that it should take the FBI about 2-3 business days to run the background check.

All in all, I am happy with how smooth the process went, it only took 15 mins.

12/17/2013 - Requested NVC to upgrade the petition from F2A to CR1 category

12/26/2013 - Got checklist for I864, sent the correction back

12/30/2013 - NVC received the I864 checklist package

01/06/2014 - NVC confirmed that our petition was upgraded to CR1 category

01/23/2014 - Case Complete

01/29/2014 - Received interview letter

03/26/2014 - Interview - APPROVED!!
