I filled n400 in August and did Biometrics on Sept 5th 2013. Since then there has been no updated on my case. Spoke to NBC in dec, made an infopass to local Raleigh Durham Office they told me I would hear back by 12th Feb but nothing since then.



Called NBC today spoke to a Immigration Officer. Who said 2-3 different things. One was they might have lost my Fingerprints etc but he did not elaborate on it. Then he also said they are waiting for FBI to clear my name or something and that it has not come back from them. He suggested i call FBI and ask them, I told him why would I do that, I filled an application with NBC not FBI.



He then said it can take a year, 2 years anytime for FBI to do it and waiting for that. I said there should be some responsibility and a written response about this situation should be sent to me, so I know who and where are messing my case up. I was still talking to this guy whom I got on phone after waiting on line for 2 hrs and then he hangs up on me.



So now I am wondering what should be my course of action next. How to get a legal responsibile answer from these guys. I have been in this country since 2010, did my green card , extension to green card etc all on timely basis and nothing ever was complicated before. So was wondering why would suddenly now they are delaying this. So any help would be wonderful in finding a way to get this resolved.

We passed the Citizenship Test/Interview. For people who are in the NYC (Manhattan) Field Office, our appointment was at 2PM. We arrived early (since there are sometimes huge security/entrance lines) and waited. At 3:15PM, my wife was called in. I was invited to come in, but opted to wait outside for her. She was finished and came out around 3:50PM. We received our Approval/Recommendation document and said we'd likely have our Oath ceremony in the next 2-3 weeks, but that we should wait for our letter for exact details.

I had originally thought about postponing the Interview because we had travel plans, but after reading other people's accounts of having to wait another 1-3 months, we opted to just cancel the trip. We're hoping that we can get our oath done soon (or in late March) as we told the officer that we had international travel plans in early March, but we'll see what happens.

For those tracking my NYC (Manhattan) case as a proxy for your own, I finally have some progress to share from the USCIS Case Status website:

On February 24, 2014, we placed your application in the oath scheduling que [sic]. We will send a notice when the ceremony is scheduled. If you move prior to the scheduled ceremony, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Now it seems like I'll have to wait for them to actually schedule the oath ceremony.

Congratulations!

I am still waiting to be scheduled for interview and I was placed in line on 11/18/13. (its been over 120 days) I tried to make an info-pass and i keep getting the message that there are no appointments available in the NYC office.

I was wondering if you ever tried to make an info pass at any point during your application process?

Just received the letter with our Oath Ceremony Date.

Congratulations!

Thank you MJC79. It took about just under 4 months for us to get our interview date after being put in line for scheduling. We did not make an infopass at that point and just waited.

We only made an infopass when our interview date conflicted with travel we had already planned. We asked if we could move the interview date, but they told us that they would only put us back in line for scheduling (which could have been another 4+ months), so we cancelled our flights/trip to keep the original interview date.

Thanks MJC79! Yes, we had the oath ceremony last week. Congrats on getting your interview date! Just note that sometimes the security line to enter can be pretty long. I'd get there 30-45 min early just in case. Good luck!!!!

After our Jan 29 interview, we had a trip to Hong Kong already booked for March 5-12 so we told the Interviewer that we wanted to have our Oath scheduled after March 13. He suggested that we might get the Oath scheduled in February, but the letter came March 15ish for an April 2nd Oath date. No promises are made, but hopefully they will accommodate pushing your Oath back.

hi Songer,

I got approved and thanks to your advice, I got to my interview in time. When I got to Federal Plaza the line was really long. It took about 30 minutes to get through security and then another hour waiting for my inerview.

I am hoping to get my oath letter soon. I requested an oath ceremony after 5/26 or before 5/16.
