My interview is on the 14th and my green card expired back on Dec 4. I hope this isn't going to cause an issue.

Also, my son turns 18 Feb 4 so we have little time between oath and his birthday and that's if I have the Oath right away...

I shouldn't have waited so long to apply.

Passed the test today!!!!

Atlanta was really busy. Appointment was at 1:30, hubby didn't see the IO until 4:00 or later. When he arrived his number was 145 and they were on 80-something. I saw a post in a different topic that a morning Atlanta appointment was quick. I guess the lesson is if your appointment is in the afternoon, be prepared to wait. When he did see the IO, she was exhaused (as was my hubby), but very nice. She did check our marriage certificate, tax returns, child's birth certificate, asked where he worked etc, was he a terrorist, drug user, would he take up arms or support the US in a military conflict etc. She then asked 6 questions and did the reading and writing part of the test. The entire thing took 10 minutes.

He got a paper saying he passed the English, US history and government tests and had the 'recommended for approval' box checked. He should get the oath letter in the mail sometime very soon. Good luck to everyone else!!

Hey guys ,it's me again.

so the news are-there are no news, since i called about the interview scheduling nothing has changed at all,my case is still in line for scheduling, and it's going to be the fourth month since the placing in line..i seriously start to worry, since it usually takes 5 months in my state to process the case.

i don't even think calling the customer service helps.i have two questions:

-i bookmarked the link given by someone from this forum about the processing time(there was the info about what month applications are being processed now),unfortunately i can not open it and i lost the link, does anybody know where i can possibly get it from?

-if i schedule infopass, would that be possible since it is a scheduling problem?

what kind of documents i need to bring with me for infopass?

1) For your first question, how to find what day your local is processing N400.

Go to USCIS.gov

click on check my case status

On the right there is check processing time

Click the first tab to select you local and press enter

Now you should see the date for your local which is May 4th, 2013

2) I would encourage you to schedule an infopass and see whats going on or when you call the 1800 number say that you were waiting for tier 2 and you lost signal, so you want to be back on the wait. Ask about whats going on with your case. Good luck,

Take your biometrics letter with you and your green card for the infopass.

thank you, already did that, the only thing i can not understand-i see the date may 4th,i guess that means that the cases that had been filed on may 4th are processed now, but i know USCIS already covered june petitioners, why is statistics on the site inconsistent with current situation?

and the last question, since your post was informative:what is the difference between infopass and a conversation with tier2 officer?

would that be helpful?i've noticed that sometimes they say that it's in line and everything is fine while the case is actually lost,or there are some problems.

ps-thanks for the infopass documents idea,i saw they need i-94 on the site,but i don't think it's necessary,isn't it?

If some applicants who applied after you and they got done before you (keep in mind Im talking about same local office here) then I would suggest you do an infopass and inquire about it.

The difference between talking to a tier 2 and having an infopass is that tier 2 can see what's going on your case but he can only inquire through email about your case in case somebody forgot it (they won't be from the office your file should be in). But infopass a person has to go and dig and find out what really is going on with your case and give you the actual answer. Most of the time both can lead to same answer. Another difference, when you talk to a tier 2 you inquire about your case from home. When you have an infopass, you have to drive and go into the building and all of that. One saves gas the other doesn't lol.

You shouldn't have I94 if you are resident you don't have to have that. Only people with visas have to have I 94. They took that I 94 from my passport when I had my interview for adjustment of status.

oh ok,i see))thank you very much for your time!

from everything you said i think it will be more helpful to go out there for the infopass,as you said-they have to dig the file out and tell whet is going on with it,well i just want to make sure my file is not lost.for this,it might be better.

as far as

"If some applicants who applied after you and they got done before you (keep in mind Im talking about same local office here) then I would suggest you do an infopass and inquire about it. "

i applied in the end of august,in october USCIS interviewed petitioners that applied for naturalization in june,i would assume august people will have to go in january,it is january and the case status hasn't changed, even if it changes now i'll go in february at best, which i doubt.the infobox says-if the interview has not been scheduled within 90 days-call customers service(and the number was given).I can not get exact information on what month they process now,but according to my calculations-it should be august-september.
i'm afraid if i'll be waiting for another few months case won't be resolved and it will be even more complicated to push it through.

oh ok,i see))thank you very much for your time!

from everything you said i think it will be more helpful to go out there for the infopass,as you said-they have to dig the file out and tell whet is going on with it,well i just want to make sure my file is not lost.for this,it might be better.

IcyStar, please post how it goes with what you decide to do...there are 2 Baltimore September people who haven't made it through yet either and I'm reaching my "90 days" from being in-line at the end of this month, so I'll be following your footsteps. It's frustrating because we have a trip to see his parents overseas in March and I'm afraid they're going to pull it out then, not before like the processing times had said, like 4-5 months. I don't want him to be in limbo status when he's a citizen, but has no passport yet.

You know that if it gets to close to your trip and you get done you can do this:

Apply for expedited passport: if your trip is in 2 weeks, you have to have trip proof as an airplane ticket.

Or you can go to a passport agency (closest one to you) and apply for same day passport.

Of course both of these are more expensive then regular service. Good luck.

Yes u r right. There is nothing like that. My 3 year of GC has been completed on 11/23/2013. Still I am on initial review. Some sep filers took oath..

What does ur status says?

I am still Initial Review. Fingerprints done in first week of Sept. So it has been so long.

What would you suggest me to do, I applied in August, did Biometrics on 09/05 and has been under Initial review since forever. I am in Raleigh NC office. I have lost my patience.
