taxes again

Hi everyone,

I'm just wondering about something here. We just received the I-864 and my hubbie is my sponsor. He is a fulltime student and has therefore not filed a tax return for 2004. Now it says on the instructions that he needs to "attach a written explanation and a copy of the instructions from the Internal Revenue Service publication that shows [he wasn't] obliged to file"

Now what do they want, where can I find it and are tax transcripts also ok or does he need returns and W2?

P.S. we have a joint sponsor...should I photocopy the release of federal tax data form and have him fill it out as well?

ok, well I sorted that one out, in case anyone was wondering...

I found the info on the instructions for form 1040 (Do I have to file?)

But I am still wondering whether transcripts are just as good as the actual returns or if either one is better.

Also, should we get the release form copied and the joint sponsor sign one as well?

Come on, guys, I know someone knows the answer to this!!!

I like transcripts and have used them throughout our case, FWIW.

I know nossing ov zee NVC (tax release form) but I have seen that question posted many times--there must be an answer out there .
