Hello All,

I haven't recieved any emails from USCIS, only my NOA1 on 10/26/2006. My status page at USCIS reflects only that. However, when I log into my account, the "last updated" date has changed to 11/29/2006. I cannot see any changes, what does this mean?

Also, can someone tell me what is Packet 4?

Thanks

It is what is referred to as a "touch". May or may not mean anything other than your file was "touched" by someone.

YMMV

That means your petition was touched.

Packet 4 is the one the beneficiary recieves from their consulate prior to the interview:

In December, 2001, the State Department announced a change in the name of Packets 3 and 4, which were the instructions, forms and appointment information. They are now referred to as "Instruction Package" and "Appointment Package". Some of the forms are renamed slightly as well, so if the exact form numbers are different, just follow the instructions.

You should check the U.S. embassy in Thailand under the fiancee visa section for further explanations of packets 3 & 4 and what is needed. If you start now you will have all the necessary documents in place by the time your application is approved and the time for the embassy interview approaches.

You need to learn patience now. This is a long and slow process with number of delays and just down right frustration. Generally your application will take at least three months from receipt to approval unless they request additional information. If that happens, get it done right away.

Good luck and keep reading the guides and become aware of all the steps necessary.

Patience....It's so incredibly frustrating going through this process. Now that I've found someone I have to endure this waiting period. That, and daily worry about her safety in Bangkok. Bangkok, it truly is an urban jungle. I remember my first day I could barely cross the street. There was a story the other day about a girl that going thru the K1 process and while waiting for approval her fiancee sent her an engagement ring. She was killed over the ring by a couple drug addicts.

Don't get me wrong, I love Thailand and Bangkok. But, anytime you put 10's of millions of people together you're gonna have those kinds of stories.

Thanks for listening to me vent:yes:
